Well, turns out the Department of Defense has discovered just under $1 trillion in minerals in Afghanistan, and says it will take a few years to get production under way.

Why is DOD looking for minerals, and why are we producing them?????????



(p.s. last weekend I watched the Saturday Night Movie on SyFy, and it was called "Sand Serpents" and was a Tremors knock-off about a unit in Afghanistan being attacked by underground monster snakes while searching for rich mineral deposits for the government to exploit to pay for the Stimulus Package....LOL....they got something right.)

The interesting thing about is that the US Government and most other Governments around the world have been generally aware that Afganistan is mineral rich. The problem remains lack of infrastructure or a port. Why release this info now?
