I stand by my prediction that Utah will get a PAC10 invite.

But as far as "BYU stays put," I'm not 100% certain.

You should be more confident. Your original statement was correct: http://blogs.sltrib.com/byu/index.php

Nice call, unfortunately.

My source originally indicated that BYU would not get an invite this year, but would be a top consideration in a year or two. Last night or the night before (whenever I started this thread), he mentioned that a few minutes previous to our discussion some Big12 officials were still making inquiries to BYU.

Interesting. But, I guess Beebe's comments today pretty much seal the deal <long sigh>

No deal is ever sealed.

If the Big 12 were smart, they would offer BYU and Utah admission for 2012. That way, they get 2 good schools who can be travel partners, the SLC market, plus some in roads to SoCal with the BYU fans, and they get to chop the legs off the PAC10 expansion. After the inquiries the PAC made, I'd say that type of payback would be awesome, no? Instant karma.

If the Big 12 really wanted payback, they could offer BYU, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State, and have the SLC and Phoenix markets while reducing the potential Pac 12 to 9.
