Is they're leaving in 2011. That means we won't be able to count their 2008 BCS numbers in the new formula. The MWC will still be on the outside looking in.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is the main reason Utah decided to leave in 2011 instead of 2012. They don't want the MWC to become a BCS conference and they can feel superior to the MWC.

Yeah, well we still get the 2 BSU BCS bowls to offset Utah, and we potentially get their 2010 BCS birth as well, which Utah will not have. And IF TCU runs it again as well, that makes 4 BCS births in 2009 and 2010 alone, plus the BSU 2007. Just need someone to step up in 2011 and get it done, and if things stay are they are, the MWC will get it.

Plus, look for the Cotton bowl to be added in 2012 as well. That opens up 2 more spots, and the MWC could get 1, with 1 more at-large to make the Big 6 happy.

I seem to recall that the last time they did the evaluation was after the Big Least lost Miami et al. to the ACC yet the Big Least was able to count the BCS bids by Miami and Va Tech during their Big Least stay as counting in favor of the conference. Wouldn't the same logic or rules apply here or will they find a way to maintain the status quo perhaps?
