It is in Greg Wrubell's cougar tracks, just read it about 2 seconds ago.

What is taking so long anyway?

Does the NCAA really have that much on their plate or is this really that tough to decide?

Seems like they've had his appeal for weeks now.

I think I heard that one Greg Wrubell's Cougar Cuts interview with the LB coach.

The NCAA typically operates without any sense of urgency. I'm not counting on them to deliver a ruling based on what would be convenient for BYU. Although, I am keeping my fingers crossed and am hoping that we can start that monster at ILB against Washington.

So Dick Harmon tweeted, BYU will appeal an Ncaa denial of a waiver for LB Uona Kaveinga which allows immediate participation after transfer from USC" So I guess he was denied then?

Kaveinga's request was denied. BYU will appeal the denial.

It will be another 2 weeks before we hear back again, but it sounds like a "No Go". Too bad.

I'd be curious to hear the NCAA's justification for their ruling. It seems the NCAA has a bad habit of punishing the wrong people. I don't think that our appeal will yield different results, but I guess it is worth a try. Either way, Kaveinga will be ready to go in 2011. We should be scary good on both sides of the ball next year.

BYU looking for favorable rulings from the NCAA regarding player eligibility = not going to happen.

They probably saw it was a BYU request, thought it was probably some 25-year-old RM applying for another year after breaking their leg on the first day of fall camp, so they automatically denied the request without actually looking at it.

That's great but I have tickets THIS year. I won't have tickets NEXT year.

I want to hear the justifcation as well. Or maybe we already did.

The best reason was ______________.

oh, that's right. NONE.

This is infuriating and nonsensical.

I think it had to do with him tranferring 6 months before the NCAA did anything to USC.

It's like the guy that THINKS his company is going to have layoffs so he quits...and the applies for unemployment.

Right or wrong that's why I think they ruled the way they did.

Their justification? "Because it's BYU."

For a clean program, the NCAA rarely cuts us any slack.

It pains me to say it, but I told you so. ;) Those who were in the know knew it was a long shot. Lets hope the appeal goes better.
