wildeoneI'm starting to think that BYU will stay in the MWC. Because with BYU, Fresno and Nevada, the MWC just upgraded greatly, and stands a good chance at getting an auto-bid

I know this is $2.5M more than what they are getting from the MTN every year but I thought it would somehow be more or they would be able to find other revenue streams from Internet. How much are the utes getting from their deal PAC O Crap-- $12M??
(BTW, I was wondering what happened to everyone on Cougarblue (Ghost town and troll ridden) and now I found everyone. It's great to be back with the group and enjoying the great insight and conversation. DH should have fixed the problems before they lost all their users.)

Everyone beat me to it but this does NOTHING to help AQ status. If anything it hurts. Fresno hasn't been good in football for years and Nevada is laughable. This hurts the conference more than it helps as now we are feeding 2 more mid to bottom dwellers off our already crappy TV deal.

A- Both Fresno State and Nevada improve the average MWC football score. Neither brings a Top 25 ranking though, and they add to the size of the conference.
B- These two schools should join the MWC in 2012, a year after Boise State.
C- BCS status is decided after 2011, so FSU and UNR's numbers will remain in the WAC for this period, not the MWC's.

*CHOKE COUGH GASP*!!! The MWC "Upgraded Greatly" by adding Fresno...and RENO!?!?!? I must have missed Nevada's recent trip to the Cotton Bowl, or Fresno's top-15 finish.
The MWC acted to keep the conference ALIVE...nothing more! Their choices at the time were raid the WAC of its two most attractive remaining teams to destroy it once and for all (mission accomplished) OR become fishfood. Anyone who DOESN'T believe that, compare Reno to Houston, or even Tulsa, and tell me they are the logical choice if the goal is to make the conference better, and add new/exciting markets.
Fresno and Nevada won't necessarily hurt the MWC, but they certainly won't be a significant upgrade.

But Italics, you're forgetting that Fresno's football team will "lose to anyone, anytime, anywhere," that's gotta count for something, right?

Some people have been mocking Wyoming in this thread, and talking about how inexcusable Fresno's loss to them was. So let's play a game, and tell me if you would accept our mystery team into the MWC:
In 2006, I had to stop a two-point conversion to hang on to a 1-point win against Air Force at home.
In 2008, I lost to UCLA and Wyoming, and barely beat Northern Illinois. I scored 30+ points twice and single digits three times. My record was 5-7.
In 2009, I went 7-6 including a bowl loss, and lost my head coach to another program.
Who am I? And could I get into the MWC?
