Didn't I read that BYU already has better attendance the all but a couple pac 10 schools and all but about 4 Big 12 schools? Why would we need to expand our stadium to appear "big time" to these conferences. BYU already is. No need to expand.
The stadium "Will Be" expanded to;
1. Update an old and outdated stadium - Some building code things included.
2. Increase Capacity of Stadium (85k)-- Stadium was built according to demographics 30 years ago. See 3-7.
3. Improved seating, comfort (Chairs vs. Benches) increased ticket prices for chairs
4. Increase Luxury/Press Boxes -- Increase in High profile company's in Utah over last 30 years.
5. Build Branding, Visibility, Worth
6. Supply and Demand -- Stadium has been sold out for 3 years and this year will make 4, plus the fact we are stacked with talent for the forseeable future so let's say we will sell it out for 7 years straight. Fan base is increasing as is the community so you need to provide ticket/price options for new fans and those that want to just go to a game or two.
7. Increase visitor seating allotment. -- The BIGS travel well and demand this.
8. Higher Payouts available to attract larger BCS schools. Let's face it, it's all about the money. If we can guarentee more money and National TV audience this makes games with the BIGS that much easier to negociate.
9. Others, there are some other reasons to expand but these I will leave up to discussion and have everything to do with a stadium expansion and going Indi. ;)
