NO question. All the D deserves credit. Fuga was huge. The Dline was huge. Now, lets see what they can do against what looks to be an AF team who can score. granted their opponent was weak, but still, 65 points is alot of offensive production.

AFA scored 72 in their opener last year. The score is more of an indication of the quality of opponent as the quality of Air Force.

Hill apparently made a big impression on our replacement for Andrew Rich. Apparently, Joe Sampson, has let it be known that he might be making his decision tonight. Stay tuned.

Where did you hear that?

Sampson was going to visit Utah before making his decision. Isn't he visiting them later this season?

That's an insider article. Did you read the whole thing? Did he say anything about tripping to Utah?

On the topic of Jaime Hill, he ran both a 2-5-4 and a 2-4-5 against Washington. Pretty sweet.

I can't wait until BYU plays their first drop-back passer. I think we'll absolutely destroy a kid like CSU's QB.

Without divulging their intellectual property; I'll just say that Sampson said he wanted to sleep on it and may have an annoucement on Monday. Now if he did what Ryker Mathews did, then he called Bronco last night but didn't make his intentions known to TBS. In fact TBS was pretty late on the ball with Ryker and didn't have anything up until late afternoon of the next day.

In this case, Gman had an interview (extremely positive) with Sampson and obviously has his contact info and thought there might be news last night. Still no news.

If you listen to Sark's Monday press conference (http://www.gohuskies.com/sports/m-footbl/wash-m-footbl-body.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) you will note his comments on BYU's defensive alignment. It was not new to them (they've seen it before in other PAC 10 defenses), but it was new as far as BYU showning it on film. The alignment was specifically put in place to reduce the effectivness of the QB's running ability by keeping the defense at home instead of over persuing. The weakness of this arrangement is that it can give the receivers and QB more time to run their routs - if the front pressure isn't there. What will be interesting is to see if FSU will pick up on this scheme - as FSU also has an experienced mobile QB - We learned that last year. So it will intriguing to see how FSU adjusts to BYU's new defensive alignment.

I loved seeing the 5 LB set. I would not be surprised to see more variations on this as well. Like adding an additional safety or corner rather than a 5th LB. More like a 2-4-5. Adds speed, tackling and cover skills. Obviously need to pressure still, but is flexible. TCU has gone for speed over size for a few years and is has worked well for them. we have the speed and cover guys now to pull it off. Flexibility on looks and places the rush comes from is a great thing.
