Lastly, I don't want to watch a QB tuck it and run every other play. That's boring. If this becomes the Nelson tuck-and-run-show I'm done watching until a more entertaining QB actually gets a chance to play.
I haven't weighed in on this QB situation too much, though I have my opinions, but I could not pass this one up.
Turn in your fan card, Gunk. No real hardcore fan in his right mind would ever say something like this.
I hope you aren't serious when you say that your fanhood is based solely on the entertainment value of a given team/season.
Ahh yes, the classical, you're-not-a-real-fan-if argument.
For argument's sake, fine, CannonCougar, I'm not a real fan. You got me.
I admit it, the primary reason I watch sports is because it's entertaining. And I admit it, I watch what I like to watch rather than what I feel obligated to. I admit it, I prefer to spend my time doing things I enjoy and if a particular sporting event doesn't appeal to me for whatever reason then I don't watch it.
Personally, I think it's stupid to get all bent up and force oneself to watch a game out of shear devotion when it isn't enjoyable. It's my time, and I'll do with it what I please. If in someone else's book that means I'm not a "hardcore" fan, that's completely fine with me. There's more to life than being a "hardcore" BYU football fan.
It is just a game after all.
