I think 7-5 is the absolute best case scenario right now. And that would take a helluva turnaround.

I hate to say it but I doubt 7-5 is even in the realm of possibilities. This team would be exceeding lucky to beat even the likes of Wyoming, New Mexico & Las Vegas. Right now, they're that bad.

Well I am trying to have a little bit of optimism ;)

I wish I had your optimistic fortitude. Maybe I just need to go get a diet coke. Yeah, that will improve my outlook.

Sigh.

I prefer Rolling Rock

Defense needs to get off the field on 3rd down.

Agreed of course. But we are playing one of the hottest offensive teams in the country. I think our expectations were just a little too high this year. We've got problems on both sides of the ball. If the offense could score a bit, this would be a different game.

Nevada is averaging 55 points a game. *unscientific.

This a a good point. If we get a TD instead of a field goal on that last drive in the half, and if Anae doesn't make a stupid call on 4th and 4 we might still be in it.

The offense needs to finish drives.

Remember, Nevada has put up 49, 52, and 51 points against Eastern Washington, CSU, and Cal respectively. We have held them to 27 so far.

Fans booing coaches again, even though no matter what we needed 3 scores to possibly win.

Bronco is too conservetive. He needs to take more risks when we're as vulneralbe as this. We don't boo when we don't convert. It's not like a FG will make a difference when we're this far behind.

Positive - We're outscoring Texas again.

Down by 17 you need three scores to tie the game no matter what. The thinking is you may as well get the field goal out of the way while you have the chance.

I think the message is being sent that we are waiving the white flag. Bronco might be looking for some moral victories at this point.

2 touchdowns and a field goal are needed to win, we just knocked off the fg. If we hadn't converted we'd still need 3 scores.

True... But most coaches don't have a crappy of a defense as this. Two point conversions will change that

Kicking the field goal was the right thing on the last drive. But why run on 3rd and seven if you're not going for it on 4th down?
