Don't forget we're still several weeks behind

Our offense has two basic formations which is the shot gun spread and the I-formation. In the spread our offensive linemen also have very wide gaps. You can not take the snap under center with the gaps that wide. In the I-formation you take the snaps under center. So the question is do you want to line up in the I-formation for the majority of plays to get Heaps under center? Or would Anae need to evolve his offense to create an under center formation that is more conducive to passing that the I-formation?

Under center also also split backs, or 1 back sets. Or empty back sets. Just because we typically do the I does not mean it is the only option. For years, BYU usually was under center in a split back formation. One guy blocked, the other ran or had a pass pattern. The WC Offense was played under center.

As for our running, we have been more explosive this year running from under center.
