All I can say is Wow. That kind of makes you just wonder what Tom Holmoe is up to in having to schedule 2 2-fers with ND. Just surprising. Good for AF.

Why does this suprise anyone? Notre Dame always schedules the service academies in football. they have some regulars that they schedule nearly every year like USC, Michigan, Michigan state, purdue and so forth. They also schedule service academies. Everyone else that wants the privelage of scheduling them gets 2 for 1's.

Yes, it surprises me.

1- Notre Dame hasn't regularly scheduled AF in a while now. 8 years?

2- This series is coming out AFTER the one with BYU, but they will start in 2011 and we won't?

3- They are getting a 1-1, while we, actual independents, are getting a 2-1.

4- This comes on the heels of us trying to schedule Air Force ourselves, and they really only have one spot open a year. There goes two possible years then.

AFA beat ND in South Bend in 2007. It was part of a 1-1 deal then, too. Really not a big deal.

Well, it we schedule a 6 year deal with ND, I'd have preferred it be 3 and 3, not 4 and 2. Or worst case, a 2-2 and 2 neutrals. One in Chicago, maybe 1 in NYC or something. I could go for that.

I always thought ND gave all the service academies 1-1 deals (even if the Navy home game is played somewhere other than Annapolis). ND has played Air Force 13 times at home and 14 times on the road.

If anything, I think the best BYU could have hoped for was a 5 or 7 game series with ND getting the extra home game.

Air Force just wanted an easy win on their schedule.

Are we really jealous that someone is playing Air Force more than we are? I would be happy to never see those cut-blockin', snap calling out, personal foul cheap shot artists again.

At least Notre Dame is coming to Provo. Isn't Utah's deal with ND just a one and done? It could be worse gentlemen.
