Does it bother anyone that NOW we are fired up?

Well, you know what they say. Better late than never.

More than anything else, I think the team has a serious lack of leadership. Especially on the defensive side. With the right leaders this would not have been a problem, HIll wasn't getting it done (as a leader) and Bronco decided it was best if he jumped in and provided the leadership for the time being.

Here's hoping for a new season from here on out.

To coin a phrase: "Talk is cheap...It takes money to buy whiskey." I'm staying away from the Crowton thing of "this week's practice was exceptional. We are ready to show up ...." The time to talk is AFTER some wins, not before. And I won't believe anything until there are some "W"'s on the record.

Well what do you think now? I didn't get to see the game due to stake conference. But I will watch a replay.

Bronco said on the post game show that the team needed the shake up and for him to be more active in coaching the team. He said that the success the team had the past 4 seasons spoiled him and masked the problems that surfaced this season that he said were his fault for trying to delegate too much.

There was no shame in losing 3 games in a row to top 25 teams. There was shame in losing to USU, which finally exposed the complacency the team and coaching staff were in. Better late than never. And better early in this season than continued into next season.

I'd never miss a game due to stake conference. I guess you're a better man than I.

I'll just say right now that there must have been some powerful motivation going on this week. That is good. This also tells me that the coach (who is gone), was not motivating the players at all and I will say this here...I think that the spirit was back today and the spirit wasn't there at the USU game. Does the Lord care about BYU Football? Maybe not, but He does care about these young men and their coaches. I just hope that we can keep the fire burning strong. Wouldn't it be something to go down to Ft. Worth and kick TCU?? We did that 3-4 years ago with Beck.... not totally out of the realm of possibility if you are a blue goggled homer like me. Go Cougs.

This was a nail biter and I was really excited to see BYU get this win. But let's all keep this in perspective. A very close win on our home field against an unranked team does not mean we could now beat anybody and everybody on the road. Anything is possible, and I will be pulling for the cougs, but I will also be excited to get to the four games after that and will wish they were all in Provo. Heaps still plays like a True Freshman with promise, as do our tight ends, some of our linebackers, and one of our Safetys and our full back.

But the will improve a little more next week - but it just happens to be on the road Vs #5. And yes, I do remember Beck with a much better supporting cast and not being a True Freshman himself, beating #15 TCU on the road.

If Heaps pulls it off - it will definitely be the start of something big.

Theres gonna be more pain along the way but this win was huge I dont care who it was against they were in a losing death spiral and at least they have some confidence and fight back.Like I have said over and over I believe when all is said and done this group will be one of BYU's best ever.
