Hence, in all, the drops directly attributed to between 10-14 less points, and only killed two additional drives. This game could have been a lot closer, but without some defensive three and outs, we likely end up with the same result--just not as ugly. Perhaps the offense could have given the defense more rest, but I am not sure that it was fatigue that was getting to BYU since we were driving the ball as much as poor tackling.
Thanks for the analysis. The game would have been a lot closer and maybe even winable with 10-14 more points. Because when BYU's offense is on the field USU's offense isn't. USU likely would not have ended up with as many points simply because they wouldn't have the ball as much.
I'm not saying that without the drops BYU wins the game, all I'm saying is that it would have been winable.
Definitely winnable. That 14 points would have given us 30 total, which is what Bronco said we need to win. So if we get those 14 points and our defense is able to turn one touchdown drive into just a field goal drive, we win the game. Let's hope we get those things corrected and fast. I have no doubt that under Bronco the defense will improve and keep opponents to under 30. We still need the offense to show they are capable of scoring 30.
