Dallas area. Where the football AND the bbq and the Tex-mex are the best! Sorry CraigO.

Texas wouldn't know good bbq if it fell on their gun toting heads...

Kansas City, home of the best BBQ in the world and the worst baseball.

Worst crime rate too, if I recall correctly.

Kansas City isn't even in the top 25 worst; in fact St. Louis is much worse.

Keep in mind, we are in Jackson County, kind of an important thing to know... make sure you have your garmin.

Ohhh... Future Zion! Land near Eden. Where Adam and Eve lived 50 miles or so away. Something tells me... This place will be heavily populated when the Second Coming comes ;)

My apologies, I mistook the St. Louis crime stats with Kansas City.

Since getting my undergrad at BYU, I've lived back in Colorado (native), back to Provo for MBA, short stint in California, 4 years in Houston, 2 in St. Charles, MO, 9 years back in Colorado (Littleton - kids went to Highlands Ranch HS), 5 years in Schwenksville, PA, and now 6 years in Clive IA. With some adjustments for weather, we have loved every place we've lived. We've always been able to find good people, and the wards we have lived in have all been great. You can be happy wherever you live - just enjoy the journey! Good luck with your move. :)

Going to school in craptastic Idaho.

Idaho says that if it's so "craptastic" you can leave... they're not forcing you to go to school there.....

If "craptastic" is offensive, I can try something more mild... like "pooptastic."

or try "number2tastic" it's even further down the less offensive sacale

Even that might be a bit risqué... I was thinking more along the lines of "Poorlittlebabydidadoodooinhispantstastic"

I live on east Oahu but think the Temple site in La'ie near Kahuku is the most beautiful spot on Oahu - problem is road access would make it an unbearable commute.

Born - Heber City, Utah, then moved a lot - Sandy, Provo, Heber, BYU, Heber commuting to U of U for my MBA(believe it or not, BYU advised me and a BYU footballer buddy of mine to go there for diversity) - moved a lot, south Orange County, CA, Heber, SLC, Chicago, Redondo Beach, south Orange County, Chicago, south Orange County, Ventura County, and now Hawaii. I have enjoyed all of these places. My wife did not like Chicago - humidity. Often grumbles about humidity in Hawaii - but likes it here other than distance from extended family and friends.

I would be willing to eat BBQ in KC (actually went on a taste of KC BBQ tour 2 years ago) or in Texas, but my wife refuses to live east of Denver and when it comes right down to it seems unlikely to go east of Ventura County, Ca.

Interesting to see BYULV Hawaii connection. People in Hawaii love Las Vegas for some reason.

Re low Crime Rates - Ventura County is tough to beat. Someone mentioned Thousand Oaks above. Nice - along with Westlake, Simi Valley, and Moorpar when it comes to low crime rates.

I have kept my lemon and avocado ranch near Somis and if my wife has her way - I will retire there instead of my lifelong dream to retire someplace like Heber City used to be before the invasion of the Californians. My wife is from the Olympus Cove are in SLC, but seems to have forgotten her roots. Well, I always thought Skyline HS was over-rated even though she used to claim that everyone in Utah either went to Skyline HS or wished they did.

It takes me literally 2 minutes to walk to Lavell Edwards Stadium. I still leave 30 minutes early on gamedays though. :)

I lived at Alta apartments (next to the huge church in the west parking lot) while at BYU...you could hear gameday from outside while watching the game on your couch!

That reminds me of being in the MTC. Walking to my next class and I could hear the game and croud cheering loud during a night game.

Sigh... Sacrifices.

I just moved to Tooele from Kearns. We are loving it. I was born in Ogden, grew up in Boise, spent 14 months in Viet Nam, 2 years in Rexburg (Brrrrrrrrr!), a summer doing summer stock in West Yellowstone, 2 years in Sandy, 9 years in Bartlesville, OK (know the Hartsocks), then Boise, Provo, Santaquin, Orem, Kaysville, Heber, West Valley, Kearns, and now Tooele.

I have an appointment with the bishopric tomorrow to receive my first calling here. The bishop intimated scouts. I hope not. The ground is a lot harder than it used to be! 'Love the ward though. I think we'll enjoy it a lot here.

We're moving into Silver Lake. That would be great to have a Cougar Corner neighbor.

We used to live in that ward, we moved over to the Mount Airey neighborhood. But I still know some people over there.

Some of the best BBQ I ever ate was at the Wabash cafe in Excelsior Springs, just to the north. They also had great fries.
