Can't wait to go to my sister's house tomorrow to see this game!

It was such a slow game, I was able to do 150 names in name indexing while doing the dishes and the laundry. Yes, I don't have much of a life.

We could have really used CC tonight. By the way where was Rogers?? Zylstra was pathetic.

One of these slow starts are going to come back to haunt us.



Hard to be too upset, considering we couldn't afford to lose this one for tourney seeding; BUT



free throws were appalling



shot selection was poor



Jimmer needs to stop thinking he's Allen Iverson and play smart - teams are keying on him early and he has to find the open man - particularly when the other team is in foul trouble. Move the ball make layups or shoot free throws (which we probably would have missed anyhow)



This game exposed us, but it also hopefully becomes a great learning experience and confidence builder...



but phew.... we won

Craigo, jimmer was trying to do it all himself cuz no one else was stepping up for the team, I mean no one else could even make a freakin free throw, it was because of him we stayed in it and won

And nobody was helping Jimmer either---he'd drive inside into two-three defenders, and they'd stand there staring at him on the far three point line---not even attempting to move around to where he could reasonably pass to them.

This BYU is what it has been for the last several years--dependent on perimeter shooting and the 3-ball in particular. Our interior offense if woeful, and it is not because we have hacks in the paint. Our guys are as good or more talented than USU, but their guys KNOW how to play in the paint. Our guys KNOW how to play on the perimeter. OUr coaching strenth is perimeter basketball, and it shows again. Until we can get a coach on staff to coach up the bigs, teach interior moves--like a drop step--we will be limited. Interior passing is also a big weakness. IF we can improve on those 2 things, we get better fast. If not, we lose games where the shooters are cold.

Since last year, BYU's offense has been lebron and the cavs 2.0. It's really hard to watch.
