And yet he cut it against Arizona and we didn't have those other guys.
Look, Italics, no one is claiming Anderson is a world beater or should be our starting center and playing 30 minutes a game and taking 15 shots. No said he was even good. All people have done is acknowledge that he played a good game, that he was a key contributor in our win and that he played above what he has been lately.
To not acknowledge that makes you a hack and no better than other poster who at times can't accept that their opinion might be wrong. You don't have to start predicting lottery pick status for Anderson, but a "nice game" probably wouldn't hurt you.
I believe I acknowledged that it was a good effort. Good for him. Great efforts are to be expected. Any player not giving it their all ought to be benched.
Personally I thought he played a poor game. Arizona's failure to get points down low (or anywhere) had more to do with their incapability to play against a 2-3 zone... something that BYU was not the first school to figure out. Their bigs looked shy all night... no matter who was at the 4/5 for us. Offensively he didn't look like an NCAA player.
Anderson - along with some of our other bigs - also need to do a much better job at not standing and watching - ESPECIALLY when Jimmer drives. How many times do we have to see Jimmer drive, pull off 2-3 defenders, and then dish to a wide open big guy only to have them reflexively put their arms up quickly and have the ball bounce off their hands? Or juggle the ball a bit and ruin what should have been an easy scoring opportunity? If Jimmer can't trust his big's to finish plays, he's going to start putting up some poor looking shots instead of dishing it.
