Good point, but a team like Villanova gets more respect than BYU, everyone just says i told you they were overrated when BYU loses.

Not even a possibility for you? Wow. Read the papers, read the forum, and watch the players body language today. Nobody talked about this game until this morning because they were still hung over about SDSU and Jimmer's "legendary status." That obviously does not mean the team was distracted or overconfident but clearly they were not ready to play all 40 minutes of this game.

Read the paper? i read the part where Emery said they were motivated because NM swept them last year. ESPN doesnt make you stand there and let them have a 3 point shooting contest dude, but if you want to blame it on that then go ahead. I just dont believe that was the reason they lost.

In the second half, I think it was BYU's plan to allow the Lobos to put it up from the arc, with the assumption that they would not get a good percentage from there. We guarded the perimeter in the first half, and then prioritized rebounding in the second.

You cant rebound when they are making everything. I cant believe rose didnt adjust the D. But there is a reason he is the coach and not me. I dont understand it.

If he (rose) had to do it all over again, he'd probably agree to change some stuff. ;)

The officiating sucked, Jimmer was a little off - had to actually rest for 4 minutes, 33 or so points, 6 or 7 assists, 3 steals, 6 or 7 3 pointers - a bit off because he was not perfect, other than Davies, and Abouo in the 1st half, the rest of the team was very spotty on offense missing wide open shots.



Rose did not adjust. I love the guy - but letting UNM keep knocking down uncontested 3s eliminated the opportunity for the "rebound and get into transition quickly" game - which we used to beat UNM in the 1st half. Rose was outcoached and did not figure out what to do when 2 freshman reserves started hitting uncontested threes with lights out accuracy. UNM was atrocious on 3s in the first half. But when those two started lighting it up, Rose needed to adjust.



Jimmer is national POY caliber. He is final four material. Davies is consistent in support role. The rest of the team isn't. All together, the team still looks like sweet 16 on a neutral court - unless it gets a bad matchup or everyone but Jimmer goes cold.

Establishing a post game and making in-game adjustments are the two prime areas of improvement for Rose.



To make it worse, the kid that knocked down half the 3s in the second half did it from the same spot on the floor. He just camped out there and we let him set up shop. A team makes 1 or 2 three-pointers fine...but when they make the 3rd or 4th, that's when you call a time out and modify some things.



The refs were horrible, but that's not why we lost.



KC has hit a wall. I hope Rose starts Abouo ahead of KC now. We need more strength down low and KC gets pushed around like a doll.
