I thought your post was funny but instead of using LOL I'll use, LQTM- Laugh quietly to myself
That's very honest of you. I rarely believe people when they post "LOL."

Here's the thing. Is she going to go down in infamy now - the exact opposite of Jimmer? We have "you've been Jimmered" are we going to now have "don't be a Michelle" ?
Or in LDS circles a "Molly Michelle" (Michelle Mormon doesn't have a catchy ring to it).

So, someone over on CB has a screen shot that is as close to the rapture of her facebook account as I have seen and she posts on her own wall about how everyone was so mean for 'attacking' her about her opinions. She also expressed how rude we all are that posted on her wall and that we were lucky there was only one Michelle Peralta at BYU or else there would be a confused and really offended girl with her same name.
First of all, don't leave your facebook open for public view... Strike one.
B, not a single comment that I have read has been a personal attack, rather a funny quib about Jimmer. Maybe a couple told her to relax a bit but nothing personal in nature. If I were in her shoes, impossible I know because I worship the jimmer, I wouldn't be offended but really embarrassed. Strike two.
Lastly, there will only ever be one Michelle Peralta. She has etched her name in the mind of cougar nation forever. Strike three.

I love that she hides behind "well, its just my opinion." Don't worry that its completely unsubstantiated and that you've insulted tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of people. I hated these kinds of girls at BYU, they'd call you all sorts of nasty things for using a swear word or watching an R-rated flick then they'd go and sleep with their boyfriend. She is exactly the kind of person that gives BYU a bad name and a person for whom the term "zoobie" is totally appropriate.
Sorry to keep harping on this, its just a huge pet peeve of mine (like you couldn't tell). Something about people like her just gets under my skin, it makes my blood boil.

As they say, 'there are better ways to skin a cat'
I agree with Schmoe's intent, but feel we should not wallow in the mire just to prove a point that the mire is there. I have enjoyed the above average culture here on CC. Hope everyone else has too.

When I was going to the Y back in the late 70s, a young lady wrote a comment to the Daily Universe about her experience with the HC and the testing center.
A woman had gone to the testing center in the middle of the winter to take a test and was turned away because her blue jeans didn't pass the dress code. She went to the restroom, put on her long overcoat, removed her pants, and went in and took the test. She wrote a letter to the editor asking what sort of University would have a rule that would make her have to take such an action -- taking a test "in her underwear"!
Sad thing is, it was printed in the Daily Universe with her name. She left school not too long afterward because she kept getting all sorts of obscene phone calls.
People need to realize that the law of unintended consequences is fully enforced on the campus of BYU as it is everywhere else.
The best thing Michelle can do is accept the tickets and become a Jimmer fan. The worse thing she did was to bring religion into the discussion. She wanted less focus on Jimmer, demanded less focus on Jimmer, and the opposite happened.
Jimmer needs to meet with Michelle and her husband and invite the press. She should explain that he is no Nephi, rather he is really a Captain Moroni. That would be acceptable and true.

If there is anything Jimmerous, Jimmerly, or of Jimmer or Jimmerthy, we seek after these things.

Urroner, we seem to be of the same era. I recall that letter and the firestorm that resulted. The thing is - that letter writer should have just taken the test and shut up about it. She knew that it was against the dress code to wear jeans, and she simply deceived everyone into thinking she was wearing a dress when she went in. It wasn't a good idea to write the letter. HOWEVER, the response to her letter was totally inappropriate.
The response to Michelle has been in good fun. The facebook responses were not crude or rude, but simply funny. If Michelle has any sense of humor, she should accept the fact that most disagree with her, and move on, hopefully with front-row seats in the MC! 8)
