Ive been saying for a while now that CA should start over KC. KC IMO isn't ready to be a starter on a big tome cbball team. Too Many easy missed shots right at the rim in the past few games, and usually because he's playing timid. CA has earned the right to be the starter, based on his D anld rebounding alone.

Yes, because Abouo hasn't similarly struggled with finishing at the hoops

All Abouo needed was rest, he'll be showing up for the rest of the season, wait and see.

I still think we bring Abuou off the bench. Honestly, our bench is pretty shallow right now, and we need that spark he gives off the bench. Not sure Collinsworth could give the same spark, so I say keep him as is. Charles gets plenty of minutes and usually finishes. And as they say, does not matter who starts--matters who finishes.

The BYU bench needs to up its game. Been streaky lately, and not as reliable in the big games as they could be. They feast on bad teams though. But check out their minutes and stats vs. UNM, SDSU, CSU, Utah etc, and it shows the bench as being unreliable as a whole, except for Abuou for the most part. We have really missed Collinsworth this year. His loss hurt our depth in the post, which is where we need it most.

Noah has not been playing well.

If Noah hasn't been playing well, I don't know how you classify how "well" KC has been playing lately. In the last 5 games each played, here are their stats:

Noah: 25 points on 8/25 shooting and 8/10 FTS. 33 rebounds, 8 assists, 6 turnovers, 2 steals, 10 blocks, and 13 personal fouls.

Kyle: 15 points on 6/14 shooting and 6/10 FT, 20 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 turnovers, 4 steals, 4 blocks, and 11 PF.

While Noah hasn't been a world beater lately, KC has been even less impressive, especially not enough to warrant sitting the taller Hartsock to make for a small ball lineup.

Yes, but KC was out/playing recently with a concussion so the minutes aren't even close. (which actually makes the whole point of KC starting over Noah a non-argument right now...)

Noah: 152 mins

KC: 79 mins

I'm not for or against it, but until the earth stops spinning for KC it isn't happening anyways.

Not nearly as much as KC. Abouo over KC as a starter, no matter how you try to spin it.

Either of these 2 set-ups would work for me. Then it would allow us to save Noah for the 5 when Davies gets in foul trouble. That way we always have a decent low post presence. In the second half you can play Noah more if he's able to stay out of foul trouble himself

Why all this talk whether Abouo should start or not on Saturday?? I know KC's coming back but lately Abouo seems to play better as a starter than he has previously coming off the bench. I think it allows for Abouo to get into the Rhythm of the game more. Abouo can hit the outside shot as well as take it to the hole where he's been finishing as of late. As craigocarson has mentioned Abouo is a better fit for this team right now. Why pull back the reigns now when he's finally rolling?? If anything start KC over Noah. I say let KC rest up a little bit and both he and Rogers can be the sparks off the bench. Come on Rose, see the light that is Charles

I don't care so much what happens in the regular season, but we get away with a lot by playing TCU, Air Force, and Wyoming in our conference. In the real tourney you must have players/athletes like Charles out there getting stops and shutting people down. Our team last year looked awesome in the reg., but they couldn't get stops (looking at you JT and Haws) to save their lives and that is not Sweet 16 material. Charles must be on the floor 25-30 minutes per game come March!

Agreed, and all the more reason to make sure Charles is primed and ready to go for March. I agree with beauso, KC needs some rest. I honestly think the season has caught up with him.

KC will be a deer in the head lights in March like he was against UCLA, SDSU etc. Abouo has played on some pretty big stages and the last thing we need is one of our starters too enamored by it all to be productive. Plus, as quick as KC is, he gets pushed around on the block, which we also don't need.
