Here's a new take on the question? Which would improve Jimmer's draft status more?

I think POY awards but a first or second round exit would be a shame.

I think it will improve his draft stock to do well in the tourney. I don't think that POY means that much to drafters. They want to see winners on their teams, not just award winners.

That is why guys like Goofball Hayward get picked up early in the draft.

That's not a new take on the question, it's an entirely different question.

But I agree, I think a deep run (Elite 8 or further) could really bump Jimmer's stock. Had anyone heard of Hayward before the NCAAs last year? And jumped all the way to 10th. Jimmer is already well known.

craig, now that BYU soundly beat SDSU on the road and Jimmer solidified his spot as POY, I really think BYU is a very strong elite 8 team that could even make the final 4 this year. If BYU does get to the elite 8 and Jimmer snares the POY awards, how does this impact BYU's chances with Parker, Chatman, and Roscoe Allen BG in Las Vegas?

Good point. I wrote that at 3:45 am (couldn't sleep w bad cough) so I am surprised that I had anything to say about anything... :D

Now it is a moot point. Jimmer is a lock for the POY. Especially if we win out and go a few into the conference tourney.

I think this has to help with guys like Parker or Chatman. You can't argue that you can't get exposure or press or ESPN love at BYU. It's simply a question of do you want to live the BYU lifestyle or not.

It is just a simple choice of what kind of "exposures" you want...
