You most probably meant POW and not POY, and yes, it is getting "old hat". In the MWC it just doesn't mean much because they have this inclusion issue and desire to spread it around. That's okay, but don't call it POW, but come up with some other name that doesn't necessarily suggest the individual was the weekly MVP, but that his efforts should be highlighted.

I'm glad the MWC is soon to me in our rear veiw mirror.

Introducing "The Guy Who Really Hustled, but Isn't on the Same Level as Jimmer award". And they really should just rename the MWC pow the Jimmer award. It would be the most watched award every year after this.

Future resume of a NBA hopeful coming out of the MWC-

Averaged 21.3 ppg

6 RPG

2 APG

Earned all conference honors

Received 5 Jimmers.

If you are fouled on an attempt and the bucket doesn't count, there is no attempt credited.

But if you are fouled, miss the shot, and no foul is called, then the shot attempt counts.

Correct, because in that case you weren't really "fouled." Since a foul is only a foul when it's called. Just like a bell isn't a bell until you ring it or a song isn't a song until you've sung it or love isn't love until you give it away. Or something like that.

Blasphemy. You're basically saying there is no crime unless someone is caught/charged.

Quoting Rogers and Hammerstien is not blasphemous!

My comment only applies within the confines of a basketball court. I hope no one attempts to apply this logic beyond those limits, because a crime is still a crime before the perpetrator is caught, charged, tired and punished.

Kitic Johnson is right.

Kitic is saying a foul is not an action committed by a player, rather it is the classification of an action only after it is called by the ref. Until that action is called by the ref, it is classified as a non-foul.

For example, player P1 commits a action that is described as a charge in the rules book and the refs do not call it. The action is not classified as a foul.

Player P2 is standing at half court bouncing the ball, neither advancing nor retreating and Player P3 bowls P2 over and the ref realizing that P2 is really THE JIMMER, he calls the incident as a charge against P2. The action is classified as a foul, although the action committed by P2 isn't described as a charge in the rule book.

There, clear as the water in the University of Utah.

So it is only a crime if the one who perpetrates it is tired? So because Trevon is in good shape and did not get tired choking his girlfriend it was not a crime?

Again, my analogy was not meant to extend beyond the court. But IIRC, Tre'Von copped a plea to receive lesser charges. So he was in essence tried before it got to the courts.

So what your saying is your analogy only applies to the court? Meaning that someone like Tre'von gets away with whatever he wants in "court" as long as he isn't tried. Is this because he plays on the basketball "court" and since he gets away with hacking Jimmer as long as the refs don't call it, he gets away with strangling (or whatever he wants) in the "court" of justice? You should be ashamed. :sulk:

Trevon pled "no contest", so in essence he didn't realize choking his girlfriend was against the law. Probably figured if he can clobber the Jimmer time after time and not get called on it that choking his girlfriend once must obviously be a lesser offense and therefore not a foul/crime.

Nope. I'm done with you. And after I hunt you down, I'm paying off the police so I won't be arrested, charged and tried and no crime will have been committed.
