We all know that anything can happen, but these guys seem to think that they are far superior athletically. Boy, will Jimmer and Jax be a surprise to them! Our whole team is a lot more athletic than most people on the east coast think.

When you haven't played Jimmer, he doesn't look like he would be that hard to guard. It's like going from HS to D-One. You can't really understand the speed difference until you have played in it. Jimmer should have a heyday with their star defender.

Jamar Diggs (seemed like a nice enough guy) speaking about why BYU is a good match for them. "A team that doesn't play a fast pace game... It favors us, because we don't play that way".

I am expecting a fast pace running game in the mile high city.

I wonder if these guys had watched ANY film before making these statements. BYU plays at one of the fastest paces in the country... the more I read they less I think they have any idea what BYU is all about.

I just watched this video...

I love the comparison to playing at Denver to playing at Appalachian State. Let's compare elevation.

Boone, North Carolina (App. State campus) - 3332 ft.

Denver, Colorado - 5183 ft.

1850 ft. difference in elevation is quite a bit. Not a real bright player.

A team that doesn't play a fast pace game...Has he even watched a single Jimmer highlight? I hope they come in expecting BYU to play a slow paced game. We'll run right past them.

I love the player that says he's been to the Denver airport so is familiar with the place and will "feel'n it." Yes, you will be feel'n it, but probably not the way you were expecting.

I think after we score 10-15 straight fast break points, even off of their MADE baskets and they're huffing and puffing the thin mountain air, they might start to realize what they got themselves into

go cougs

Wofford. Wyoming. What's the difference? One "good" player vs 1 great player and 2-3 good players. They are very likely to get some edumacation in mile high.

I know we need to take one game at a time, but are we just serving each other some blue koolaid or does Wofford really have a prayer?

This is the big dance, so really every team has a prayer...except for the 16 seeds.

The way I see it. It's the players' and coach's job to make sure the team doesn't overlook their opponent, and it's our job to make sure the blue koolaid flows freely.

Our player isn't goudelock... it's Jimmer. He's not some small conference POY... He's the nation's POY. Jimmer will lead us past Wofford.

Wofford has a talented team. They haven't played us, but that means we haven't played them either. We may have to adjust to them. We should be worrying about that as opposed to how we're going to trounce them.

That said, I just want us to play Cougar hoops. Run run run. The transition trey, lots of it. Jimmer breaking ankles with the cross-over, Jackson stealing everything in sight, Charles Abouo making fans look in the program to see how tall this guy actually is, considering his rebounding. Hartock soft touching threes when Jimmer is triple teamed and feeds him.

I say we win by 14. If we build a lead, I hope Rose plays Anderson, Magnussen, Zylstra, etc. I want our main guys to rest for St Johns and I want the backups to get some experience and shake off the nerves.

Go Cougs.

Actually, Mowgli that's incorrect. Baerga gave you some bad advice. When you are in the top 10, have won 30 games, have an RPI in the top 5 and have the national player of the year and country's leading scorer, and are playing the 112 RPI team you do get to talk about how you should trounce them.

I do agree with your last two paragraphs in that this Wofford game should provide opportunity for guys to rest. But I'm not sure St. John's gets by Gonzaga either.

But yes, go Cougs.

I'm sure their coach has opened their eyes that they are not playing a team from their own conference. He's also probably rethinking his plan to just play Jimmer man to man. He also has to prepare his team to expect scoring runs by BYU that would zap the will of better teams.

Overall, I expect BYU to take advantage of being a 3 seed, put the spurs to Wofford and finish with an easy win by double digits.
