Just a reminder, Boynton led Florida in scoring against BYU last year with 27 points. I think their next highest scorer had 14. I also think he's their best 3-point shooter.

Hopefully if he is not out he will be a little off. Jackson can then focus on shutting down someone else, and our chances get better and better.

Anyone else think we are starting to sound like the zag fans on Friday? Lots of (over?) confidence on this board following what was possibly the teams best performance of the year. Hopefully the team isn't thinking along these same lines.

Perhaps, but our coach won't let the team get overconfident and we're NOT Gonzaga.

Trust me - I am not feeling slightly over confident. I am hopeful that a sprained ankle will give us a chance to pull out the upset. I talked about our chances getting better. If I was overconfident, I would be saying we will beat them by 20 if they all had 3 good ankles.

I am one of those pesky realists. I picked St. Johns to win yesterday.

This team has beaten 2 other teams that are in the sweet 16. They beat the team they are going to face last season in the tournament. This team should be confident and Rose won't let them get over confident.

Although this team doesn't have a history of success in the Dance, they have two coaches that have been in the finals before as players and know what to expect. I'm excited to see what kind of game plan they work up for this team. Also, I've got my fingers crossed that the bounces will go BYU's way.

Here's to beating Florida and then the next opponent to reach the Final Four. It's long over due for this program.

Our team needed a big win in a big way to boost their confidence. While I certainly hope it doesn't tip to being over confident and over looking Florida, I think some confidence on our end is much needed.

Exactly.

This team is really good. Watching the game Saturday reminded me of all the losses in the Big Dance where the BYU point guard struggled to even bring the ball across mid-court.... the over all talent level on this team in the best of any BYU team since the 80s and the coaching is out of this world.

The issue is that BYU has finally got over the emotional loss of Davies, and it took some time. I think they all know he is gone, and that our depth is still greatly lacking, so the core 6 have to show up big and do the little things well. That will not change, and because of it, we will not be overconfident. Fans might be though, because fans get stupid. But our core 6 have to play well, we have to hit shots, or we will lose--and they all know it. Florida is similar to UNM/SDSU in ability. Maybe better. Gotta get a great team effort, or we lose.

I wonder if Nancy Kerrigan is jealous of how easy Jimmer breaks ankles.

Wouldn't that be Tanya Harding breaking Nancy Kerrigan's knee.

Thank you! Isn't it interesting that after all these years, People remember Nancy Kerrigan's name and associate her with the bad deed, when in fact she was the victim. I think Tanya Harding somehow got off easy PR-wise.

So - maybe Tanya would be jealous of Jimmer. Or would that be Jimmer-jealous?

I thought it was very interesting what Coach Donovan said about Boynton. He sounded like Boynton has had a lot of ankle problems before and that this one kind of got into his head... Am I reading that right? He thought that he could play if he could get it out of his head. I think Jimmer should do a little magic to keep it all in his head, rolling around and causing anxiety and stress.

Ankle problems can be tough, but if it is bad enough, I do not care how tough you are, it will affect performance. Hard to plant and cut with explosiveness with high ankle injuries, and with lig damage. So the severity of the injury will determine it. If it is bad enough, Florida will have to hide him in a zone or man him up on Emory. If I see him guarding Jax, Emory needs to attack him off the dribble.
