I just want to jump in here for a second and commend Blueisbetter. He is the first person on this board that I have seen who has been able to address JV's ARGUMENT itself, and not get personal. His points are clear and his argument is strong (not bullet-proof, but impressive) and intelligible. He hasn't resorted to personal attacks or insults. Typically, JV rubs you all so wrong with the views he expresses that are so far off from what you hear in everyday life that he's immediately swarmed and attacked like those people in your dreams do in the movie "Inception". Haha. Well done, Blue. Well done.

Why couldn't we get Ellen Page to be our architect? She's got to be much easier on the eyes.

Ha! you guys crack me up.

No, I'm the architect, just the one from "The Matrix."

Now which is it guys, recycle yourselves into cougarcorner so it can continue to use humans as batteries, and Zion lives OR go save your girlfriend, and we destroy all of you?

Will Ferrel as the Architect. Ergo, Vis a Vi, Concordantly.

Then I definitely want Ellen Page if you're Colonel Sanders!

Really? Then why do people go into the farm systems, instead of playing college baseball? It's pretty clear that a Triple A, Double A, or even some Single A teams can beat any college team out there.

I actually played sports in high school (baseball included), I'm assuming that you didn't. Or else you would have had teammates working out for scouts, and - in my case, I know from experience - teammates getting drafted right out of high school and accepting 6 figure contracts to play minor league baseball. Those of us that didn't get drafted, were talking about what colleges would be best to go to for "exposure" purposes.

In the 2010 MLB Amatuer Draft 22 out of the first 50 picks were directly out of high schools. It is common knowledge that kids that want to play in the MLB (but aren't good enough to get drafted) go on to college to play. Almost nobody goes on to college passing up a contract (except of course, Jake Locker - who had an MLB contract for a farm team, but chose to attend college so he could, what? PLAY FOOTBALL AND TRY TO GO TO THE NFL! Now, if there was a farm system like there is for baseball, or some sort of semi-pro league, would he have needed to go to college?)

Your argument doesn't hold up.

Dude, I swore off the lounge after conference but here I am back. Hopefully not calling anyone names and avoiding conflict.

I said baseball offers are less than what they would be if there were no socialist institutions propping up a competitor to MLB. In every sport in which government owned entities participate, prices are lower than the free market would dictate.

FYI I registered with the NCAA to play baseball in college (Never played for several reasons). I had a couple friends get drafted (30K and 50K signing bonuses to the #1 and #2 starters (I was #3 and CF)). My participation in the NCAA decreased the amount my friends were paid. I am still disappointed in myself for participating with the NCAA.
