I'm sorry, did you just say Hayward was "not a bad pickup?"
Yeah, if you are picking 25th and up, he isn't a bad pickup at all.
You picked him 9th. And for the people OOW-ing and AHH-ing over his last dozen games, I have a question. How many of those did we win?
Dig Deal. Our 9th pick can kind of take over a game against the other teams' second teamers once in a while...
The jury is still out on Gordon, so let's give him time to develop. But also, don't hold your breath.
Exactly, the jury is still out. I don't recall saying he was an all-star, but he hasn't been a dud either. Hayward has played very well lately, despite the jazz's record, replace him with Kobe Bryant and the Jazz's record wouldn't have changed much. If we're going to cherry pick numbers let me know what the Jazz's record was when Deron Williams was a rookie and how they did in the playoffs that year. I guess he was a bad pick that year (most people would agree the jazz screwed up since CP3 was passed on after the 2005 season) but I think Deron proved he was THE best point guard that year.
That 9th pick took over a Lakers game in LA (which hasn't been done for a while) and those Lakers were fighting for a 2 seed. I'm sure the Lakers didn't care about that seed though and just played their scrubs. And the Hornets and Nuggets, two more teams that didn't have anything to play for. They just rolled over for the Jazz and Hayward.
Back to the topic, I'd really like to see LEonard playing for the JAzz. They guy's got a ton of NBA potential.
