Is there any doubt that Dirk is the best player on the floor

It is looking increasingly obvious that Dirk N is by far the best single basketball talent on the court. Man, imagine what he could do surrounded by even better talent.

Imagine the result tonight if Dirk is 100%.



The only thing keeping the Heat in this series are the Mavs' hoarde of unforced turnovers leading to momentum-killing easy buckets for the Heatles.

I'd say it's a tossup between him and Wade. D-Wade has played extremely well in this series, but a part of it can be attributed to him playing as part of the "Big 3" (Big 2, if we're honest).

I'm not a fan of Wade. Does anyone embellish the way he does? You'd think he was an Italian soccer player the way he goes down at the slightest contact. And even if there's not contact, he still goes down and hopes the refs bail him out. Like at the end of game 2, when he fell to the floor touched his face and looked at the ref wondering why a foul wasn't called on a half court shot at the buzzer. Guy is kind of a tool.

Yeah, not much of a fan of Wade for the very reasons Spiff mentions. He is talented, but describing him as an Italian soccer player is perfect. The guy preens like a peacock over the slightest good, and bemoans the slightest ill.

I agree, I didn't say he wasn't a tool or that I was a fan, per se, just that he's playing quite well right now. There's nothing that irks me more than the soccerization of the NBA.

I really think Wade could be the third best #2 of all-time (after MJ and Kobe), but he's such a pansy that he'll never get the props he might otherwise deserve.

So, because he blocks shots, he can't be a flopper?

1st video- Kidd has both arms in the back and clearly extends his arm and Wade sold it. EVERY player in the league does that. You could easily show highlights of Mavs players doing the same thing in the same game, I can assure you.



2nd video- Look closely/slow it down... He was poked in the eye.



I am sorry, Dwayne Wade puts his body more on the line than nearly every other player in the league. The way he plays means that he will spend a great deal of time going down. I just don't buy the critique especially when you show videos of plays that you can see pretty much every player in the league doing.



Having said that, watching the way Dirk has played in these Finals has been great fun for any basketball fan. Amazing stuff.

THIS D-Wade?

Anyone notice how many times the announcers said, "And Wade thinks he was fouled"? I swear I heard that at least 10 times tonight.

It can be argued that when Dirk was healthy this year the Mavs have been the best team in the NBA.

Hence they're up 3-2 in the NBA Finals.

My question is when does Lebron James officially join the Heat? Is it next year, because he sure hasn't shown up yet.

IMHO this heat team is no better than the cavs team he was on the last few years. And the Cavs would have been better if LBJ had actually put some effort into his playoff games while in Cleveland. AND it seemed like he was having more fun in Cleveland. The guy doesn't do well with pressure.
