Blue, I must request that you stop posting disagreeing articles to global warming. They don't help the global warming argument, therefore they shouldn't be allowed and those scientists who published them should be disbarred. Everyone knows there is global warming and the USA is the biggest and probably only culprit responsible for it.

Oh I forgot, the discussion on Global warming has ended already, and that I am as bad as a holocaust denier.

My bad, and thanks for reminding me Spiff!

Boston Globe columnist Ellen Goodman: "Let's just say that global warming deniers are now on a par with Holocaust deniers, though one denies the past and the other denies the present and future."

Spiff, your sarcasm is now in full bloom!

After 1990, the world more fully enters the era of wars and rumors of wars and to commemorate, the world goes commando.

After contemplating Mars logic I have changed my opinion.

I;m not sure I'd call that commando. More like "elemental" :bug:

According to the news there are 1,000,000 people on the east coast who may be celebrating global warming. There are still 2,000,000 who still don't have power. I don't think they are celebrating much of anything. I'd like to see a poll of those 3,000,000 on which scientists they believe.

Given the rate the government is imposing new regulations, how long will it be before we get an agency that will come around measuring our breath?

The fact that Gore has made so much money from this makes his a biased argument. And as sno pointed out, there have been plenty of warming/cooling periods not associated with human's pumping too much CO2 into the atmosphere.

When I graduated from BYU one of the speakers said that the trend is to scare people into thinking a certain way. Kind of a "the sky is falling" argument to persuade. Certainly fits the (manmade) global warming theorists. Don't have to look back to far when science demanded that we burn tires in antarctica to keep the world from going into a ice age.

My biggest arguement is that if Gore himself truly believed in it wouldn't he make changes in his own life? But he continues to have one of the largest carbon footprints in the world. This alone to me demonstrates his true motive. If I were the face of a cause I would live what I preached if I truley believed it. In his case I wouldn't have multiple mansions and fly around in a private jet etc.. But he lives an exclusive life. I like the quote "I don't belive what a man tells me I just watch what he does."

That's my take.

Yesterday I went through the passage where Lake Bonniville released itself. The sight said it had to do with a warming trend. It was 14,500 years ago!

We should start caring about our environment. Please do, before its gone.

Where is it going? I'm surrounded by national parks that no one can touch. A ridiculous amount of my state belongs to the federal government and can't be used for the oil (which would create jobs, lower gas prices, and, despite what hippies will tell you, does very little damage to the environment) or anything else. We do care about our environment, so much so that we're willing to make people homeless, bankrupt, and starving because of it.

Exactly. Trite phrases like that disgust me.

Where is it going? Do you realize that the "environment" is a living thing and can take care of itself?

I can promise you that if you were dropped in the middle of the Sahara, Rain Forest, or Ice Tundra that the "environment" would kick your ass. It can take care of itself, as long as we keep a comfortable balance and lifestyle, and respect it with THE SAME DEGREE of respect or less, as we treat other people.

And who said anything about not caring about it? You can care about something without worshipping it. You would have to go a long long way to show me someone that doesn't "care about the environment." Most people just don't lay themselves on the altar of sacrifice.
