Been looking at some early KenPom and analytical projections for the basketball squad. Even with Kevin Young missing some time at media days, the roster construction metrics point toward another high-end offensive rating. We're returning enough usage and bringing in the right portal pieces to maintain an effective field goal percentage above the Big 12 average.

Defense is where the real jump needs to happen if we want to host in March. Last year's defensive efficiency hovered around the top 50 mark, but getting that inside the top 25 requires better rim protection numbers and reducing opponent second-chance opportunities. Curious how the rotation shapes up once everyone is fully healthy.

That 384 to 312 yard advantage doesn't fully capture how well we managed possessions. Holding them to 4-of-13 on third down was the real separator. When the defense keeps opponents under 35 percent efficiency in those spots, the win probability shifts dramatically in our favor. Clean game overall.
