not bad considering
1. early commits that tend to hurt their stars
2. early BYU commits that tend to hurt their stars
3. small recruiting class due to tiny BYU senior class
4. Absolutely awful ratings for studs like Ryker Mathews (4 stars easy), Joe Sampson(3 stars easy) and Alex Kuresa (3 stars easy)
I think the next guy we see to commit will be DE Sam Meredith; he won't make the SAT he needs/wants for Stanford. I'd like to see them nab Meredith and Aulelio Olumua and call it a day, unless they can find another Corby Eason out there with 3 to play 3. (he's out there coaches, go find him). Meredith is adamant about going on a mission.
From all reports, Harvey Langi is another Shakerin. A highly thought of kid at the high school level that won't exactly dominate at the college level; in fact I' ve heard he's really stiff as a running back and might make a better tight end or receiver. He won't make the grades/SAT to get into Stanford and then Utah is the most likely destination. Utah would take him just to buck the idea that BYU wins all the recruiting battles in spite of need. We'd take him for depth and overall talent but I don't think this kid is the next big thing. Just a really good football player that may or may not do well at the next level.
I've also heard that Langi would have a hard time with the honor code.
What confuses me most about Langi, is that Stanford has commitments from 3- *4* star tailbacks already. I guess he enjoys the bench. Maybe he'll end up like Stanley Havili and rush for less than 400 yards for his entire college career. Then you consider that Harbaugh is looking to leave for Michigan or the NFL (both are possibilities this year) then it doesn't make a ton of sense.
