Personally, I do not care what BD did. I believe in 2nd chances. If he blows this one, then it is on him. Otherwise, I could care less about the specifics previously. And that goes for any kid and his specific HC issues. None are perfect. All deserve a 2nd chance in my book. That does not always jive with the HC office either. I still wan to give a kid a chance to see if he can learn from hi errors. If he blows that chance, on the kid and they can boot them.

I can be more clear in what I was trying to say. I'm just pulling stuff out of the air. I have no information whatsoever, but let's say that one of the condition that BYU made Brandon Davies do was sign his parental rights away to allow the child to be adopted. I could see how someone would think tha tit is a bad thing, yet, I myself think that it is a very good thing, not making his child pay for his mistake, and allowing the child to have a complete family. Differences of opinion in rational people exist.

So if you are going to say that we shold all be glad that we don't know what BYU is alleged to have done, or we would have a hard time being a fan, please forgive us if we dismiss that statement as worthless

Really Gunk. You know I know what I'm talking about. And yes BYULV first hand is not the right term. But I'm not a friend of a neighbor of a cousin either.

You asked if knowing the truth is important outside of Brandon's circle...Mars answered that "Both BYU and BYU fans are lucky that they don't know the full story about Brandon, or he probably wouldn't still be playing here and many of you probably wouldn't be rooting for him." Right after that you say "I would say it isn't" Okay that's fine.

I won't be answering again. I'm not a troll or have a huge ego. I'm sad, heartbroken, disappointed, and other number of terms, but that doesn't really matter.

Saywhat, you're right. I do know that you know what you're talking about. Wouldn't dispute that for a second, and I'd believe what you have say about Davies over anyone else on this forum. You are also well aware of my feelings on the matter and how BYU handled it.

I'm just trying to point out the other side of the coin. My apologies if I offended. No offense was intended. The forum is a better place with your participation, so I hope you continue to participate.

I also believe in 2nd chances. It is difficult to root for those who blow them.

Very perceptive of you. Yes, that was one of the conditions for him to return to BYU. And yes, forcing a choice between adoption and basketball may be a bigger deal to some than to others. I never claimed otherwise, making your rants rather pointless.

If I recall, wasn't the mother all for giving the child up for adoption? Men, particularly in these scenarios, have very little say over what happens to the child.

I find it intersing that you would call my statements "rants," when you started off with these statements:
Both BYU and BYU fans are lucky that they don't know the full story about Brandon, or he probably wouldn't still be playing here and many of you probably wouldn't be rooting for him.

and
Then again, you might not be as big a fan of BYU if you knew the things that they required him to do to rejoin the team either.

and
A truly sad and disappointing situation all around, and one that both parties are lucky never completely came out in public

I guess when on posts something, it sounds less like a rant in one's mind, but comes across that way to others. So I'll try to be nicer about what I'm saying in the future. -

The father has to sign away rights as well for the adoption to happen, or at least not contest it for 90 days or so for it to become final and official. If the dad wants the kid, it cannot be put up for adoption.
