Our lack of huge comeback wins

Bronco has trailed in plenty of games. He's been a good enough coach to not allow his team to get down big. They're only having to overcome small deficits. And when they have gotten down big, it's largely been to very good teams that lost very few games that year.

20 point comebacks is a poor metric to judge a coach.

Again, your logic fails- what you say just isn't true.

BYU didn't get down big to Utah this year?

Utah is a very good team this year?

Utah has lost very few games this year?

BYU was favored to beat Utah. Our team was viewed as the better team. We were only down by 4 points at halftime. Then Bronco was good enough to coach his team to a very good complete and total meltdown. Utah scored the last 47 points of the game, and won by 44... in a game we were FAVORED to win. I didn't say we ONLY got down big to very good teams. But go back and look at those teams I listed previously, LARGELY they were good teams.

And yes, that Utah Defense is very good. The Utes might not lose again and finish 9-4. That I think would be in the conversation of a very good team.

Oh, and thanks for the memory. I had totally forgotten about the 54-10 game. It didn't even cross my mind. I'll be sure to send all my posts to you before I hit submit so you can review them for me and my feeble mind.

Yeah, and BYU might finish the season 10-3. That doesn't change the fact that Bronco shouldn't have "none" under his list of good comeback wins.

If you are going to play down to lesser teams, you need to bounce back every once in a while and fight to a victory. Bronco's teams simply can't do that once they're down a couple scores, and inquiring minds wonder why. Attitude? Schemes? Lack of coaching talent? Priorities? What is it that makes this so hard for the BYU football program?

With Lavell, the game never was over. In the miracle bowl, the coaches were done but Jim Mac was not. The attitude was different then.

So wouldn't that be with Lavell the game was over, but with Jimmy Mac it wasn't? How many other great comebacks weren't because of the coaches, but in spite of them?
