For UNLV?
Yes. He was an o-line coach there. It's in the article somewhere.

Great, now anytime we're facing UNLV and they have a 2nd and 2 in our territory, we can expect a 30 yard pass attempt - nothing like being able to read your opponents' minds!

I was just in LB this week for business. I watched the news, and the coach search there is not main news. UNLV hoops is. In the papers down there, Sanford went out blazing and basically said that UNLV will not be a good program until they upgrade their facilities--that they have the worst locker rooms in the nation. He said the community needs to support the program better, the Univ needs to be willing to pay more for coaches, especially assistants. Stanford was the 2nd lowest paid coach in the MWC. It sounds as if the front runner might be the Steelers RB coach, who was the runner up to Stanford last time, unless they want a college guy or someone with HC experience. Not sure why anyone would want that job really, unless it was there first HC job, though. That community could care less about UNLV football. And that stadium is horrendous. The lighting is worse than some high school fields I have been to.

What do locker rooms have to do with it? If you were a kid, and had UNLV recruit you, and Nevada recruit you, and Nevada has 1000x better facilities, where do you go? Facilities matter because it puts off a perception of commitment. UNLV has a horrible stadium horrible football facilities and does bare minimum yet expects great results, and that is the truth of the matter. That community loves the Tark era Rebels and winning hoops, but could care less about football. But a perception of a commitment might get 1 or 2 mroe kids that make a difference. Seriously, of all the college towns in teh MWC, which are the best? San Diego and Vegas. But both suck. Why? No fan support, not tradition, no university facilities. It does matter.

It does seem that there are a lot of people that can't get over themelves and their expectations this year. CougarBlue is full of them. I don't know if it's just the general expectations coming into this season with a senior QB and proven TE/RB, or if a lot of it happened after the OU win, but either way too many people have been too harsh on the coaching staff and specific players - most of it unwarranted and baseless (to think that a month ago people were calling for Max Hall's head, and a few still are!).
I admit that after the OU game I thought "this will be our year," but I'll also admit I entered the season expecting 10-2 and hoping for 11-1; I just didn't expect BYU to beat OU, FSU, TCU and Utah. So I've just had to remind myself that we're right where I expected us to be. Losing to Utah would be a huge disappointment, but I don't see it happening yet.
Over the last few weeks, Bronco has made repeated references to the "ignorance" of fans, to their unreal expectations, to their undeserved criticism...even going so far as pointing out that the team enjoys the away games because they can get away from the critical fans. HOW SAD IS THAT?!?
I suppose I'd think that it's maybe a "new generation" thing expecting immediate gratification, but from the comments of many of you at games, it doesn't seem to be coming from the studentbody alone.

I totally agree, I found myself very dissapointed with this year's team. They all the tools for a special season and it didnt pan out. I remember many years when we didnt even make a bowl game. I still blame the "Quest for Perfection" for raising our hopes and dreams for the BCS. I remember Val Hale wanting to make BYU a national powerhouse. This is what you get when you raise ticket prices, when i was young i would to the game for 5$. I still think Bronco has to prepare his team for the big games more. The OU game they were prepared for whatever they were going to throw at them. TCU is a great team but they should have had a better showing.
