OK, I'm somewhat wrong about what you've brought to the conference but I'm not preaching. I'm commenting and passing on my impressions, not those of others. Regarding " letting it go ", I'll give in on that one if you will read all of the posts since you lost your first WCC game and then tell me that the overwhelming climate is not one of whining. And, on the subject of "letting it go" the WCC refs are what you get and that isn't going to change.

Finally, the BYU posts have already told us how dissapointed you are in LMU, from the first day when the fans started to complain about the WCC - that we had not lived up to expectations and made the conference better top to bottom.

I am disappointed in how the team played. Disappointed in the fans that threw stuff on the floor. SMC is the better team and our tourney chances took a hit. Not whinny but we are dealing with some emotions here. Not a good time to mess with us.

Here is to better times ahead. And a few more 3's from out team.

We never think that we are, do we?

Your “somewhat” apology is “somewhat” accepted, which reminds me of my “somewhat” neighbor who happens to be “somewhat” pregnant…

Of course there's a TON of whining.... it's a pretty active message board, no one is happy that the team's been losing. Even with all of the whining, the question is what is the whining about? Mostly it's acknowledging that our team's let us down, and acknowledging the fact that the other factors are contributing to making an awful experience even worse. Non one on this board has said that the officiating cost us the game Saturday. But, just because we lost the game to a better team doesn't mean that we have to like the officiating, and if we don't like the officiating, what are we supposed to do other than comment about it on the message board? You'll see that shortly after the game, I was commenting on this board that I thought better of our fans. Stated another way, I was whining about our fans….This is where we post our opinions, we whine about everything!

There's a lot of pride at BYU in our facilities, probably much more so than at many other schools, the schools in the MWC hated whenever we resorted in attendance smack. I hate to say it, but it's going to be around, so if you don't like reading it, you'll just have to avoid any BYU message board. But really, what do you expect?

I'm not sure what you're saying here, but if you can find me an instance of someone saying that LMU is dragging down the conference, I'll send you five bucks...with it you can buy a "Jumbaco" and drown your sorrows in a tasty Jumbo Jack AND two tacos!

I wanted to see three teams from the WCC in the dance and now it doesn't seem like it will happen. I know LMU won't be in unless we win the tournament and that's a long shot. I'm disappointed also.

Well, if your Lions hadn't been so rude as to not be intimidated by our home court and actually play well, the WCC could have had three shoe-in teams. But, no! You guys had to come into our house and punk us! I'm disappointed in LMU for not rolling for too!

I hope the Zags aren't too rude tonight. Vegas has them as the 3.5 point underdog, despite your recent loss to LMU. Must really like that Marriott advantage. Should be a really good game and I'll be watching the rerun.

I had my days mixed up and thought the game was tonight too. Wow...did the Zags get a long break before playing us. Hopefully they'll be a bit rusty.

Sorry - I'm so interested in this game that I pushed it up a day.

You guys had me thinking I missed the game. I hope the Zags get confused too and show up on the wrong night.

I live in Spokane and I'm surrounded by Zags fans. My coworkers like to talk to me about BYU and they've been really great, including today. One of them is giving me two tickets to the game when BYU comes here (he promised me years ago he'd take care of me if BYU ever came to town--he never thought that would happen!).

I got this skype message from my boss today: "Big game tonight. I hope the crowd doesn't throw things on the floor. The chatter on the GU website is that the refs are going to be giving all of the calls to BYU after all of the attention from last week." He's just teasing about the throwing things on the floor.

Now my kids may be getting some smack today (as they did last year BEFORE we played Gonzaga in the tournament), but, kids are kids.

Just sharing some of the atmosphere here. I think the Zags fans are great.

Know a few Zags fans too and must say I'm much more impressed with them than SMC fans. If you were to draw a parallel between BYU vs. Utah and GU vs. SMC, SMC would be Utah. That's been my experience here in the Bay Area. Course, there are hardly any SMC fans...even in their home town.

Gunk - you're all love today!

Are you comparing SMC to Utah? Have you ever been in Moraga? It's very hard to find and only worth the visit if you come out a winner. SLC, at least has some really good other things to do. I hope it is a good game tonight, without incidents and without refs

or fans damaging the outcome. I have to stay impartial so, may the best team win.

Yes, I'm feeling particularly cheery today. :D

To a degree, yes I'm comparing SMC to Utah or at least the relationship between SMC fans and GU fans to the relationship between BYU and Ute fans. Although, there does seem to be a bit more devotion to the conference as a whole as in the success of the conference outweighs SMC animosity towards GU. Wasn't really the case with Utes.

I actually grew up a stones throw from Moraga and live about 30 min away now. I'm familiar with the area and have friends that live in Moraga. Nice area. Bit pricey. As a whole, though, there aren't many SMC fans in the Bay Area. Don't come across them that often at all. Cal, Stanford, SJSU, and even Santa Clara are much more popular colleges and drown out SMC. In all my years here, I could probably actually count the number of times I've seen someone wearing a SMC sweatshirt (outside of when I went to the BYU vs. SMC game) on two hands.

Despite SMC's unprecedented run this season, no one is talking about it here, which I think just adds to SMC's inferiority complex.
