Yes but where is the political gain here? Is it with the Muslims?

He was not talking about Obama letting the insurgents kill our citizens, he was talking about my assertion that Obama would kill any random Libyan he could paint as a plausible "he did it" guy before the elections.

And yes, I don't think it is outside the realm of the plausible that our government will kill for political gain.

Plausible is a weasel word. Near everything is plausible-- It is plausible BYU will beat Utah next year--but I asked whether you believe President Obama would sign off on and order the murder of person(s) for his own political gain....

Yes, I do.

Thank you for your answer. With respect I disagree.

Upon what do you base your disagreement?

I do not judge the man to be a murderer or to be surrounded by murderers.

To be fair, BoiseBYU shouldn't bear any burden of persuasion to explain his non-accusatory position. It would be like me asking Hawkwing to prove to me that Riley Nelson is not a secret Ute agent.

As a minor distinction, yet one which makes all the difference, I likewise do not judge him nor those who surround him to be murderers. I look at them and I believe them to be capable of murder for political gain.

Fair point and distinction and so accepted. Perhaps many more of us are capable of very bad acts. But in the end I at least do not judge President Obama to be a man who would tell the SecDef go kill a Libyan so we can say we got the Benghazi killers and do it before 11/6 because the election is really close. And I do not think the SecDef would then tell the Special Forces head who would relay this all the way down the chain of command to the actual Special Forces persons who would do it. And as for Hawk, we all know he is no special agent of Riley--its frdbtr who is! ;)

I don't know about killing an innocent Libyan, but we know for a fact that the President is willing to watch Americans die for a political reason rather than send help that was mere miles away to save them.

Exactly, frdbtr and bib, not me ;)

Reports this morning are that Special Forces have been on the ground in Libya looking for the attackers since the 9/12 and that they are "closing in" on those responsible.

Anyone want to bet against some Libyan getting killed (regardless of actual guilt) between now and Monday evening just so Obama can spike another football before Tuesday?

Do you really think President Obama and the United States government would actually commit murder for political gain?

You don't think it has happened already with many other political figures throughout the history of the world?

I beleive it has happened "with many other political figures throughout the history of the world." But that was not my question. My question is whether he thinks President Barack Obama and the United States governement today would commit murder for President Obama's political gain. I may disagree with the President on many issues, but I do not beleive that is true of this man and this government today.

Despite his shady past and ties to admitted domestic terrorists? You'd really put it past him to look the other way if his Chicago cronies demanded blood of SOMEONE in Libya and to make it fast? We seem to have a very different perception of the same man.

These people have a license to kill. Why should I expect that they won't use it?

When the BofM warns us about men in our time that will murder to get gain and power; When King David, one of the more righteous and faithful men to have lived on earth, is capable of it; When Obama surrounds himself with terrorists, tax evaders, marxists, and other unsavory characters; When Obama beat out the Clintons who have a trail of bodies leading to the white house; I don't see it as a stretch to conclude that he is very capable of doing very bad things. You just don't spend a lifetime of hating and surrounding yourself with haters for no reason. In fact, with his track record he would have to go a long way to prove to me otherwise. I have been around bad people, I don't have to see everything that they do to know that they do bad things.

When I look for goodness and light in him I see only darkness.

I think we do. I think I've all I have to say, so I will stop here, except: God bless the United States of America.

The Lord helps those who help themselves. Hopefully our country will bless itself tomorrow.

Any order for an innocent civilian to take the fall for this would more likely come from the Libyans in order to either "make nice" with the U.S., or in order to protect the real guilty players.
