Calvert is a better ball handler than Winder. Calvert doesn't take care of the ball as much as Winder (one passes - sometimes questionably - while the latter opts to clap his hands at the top of the key and either shoot or drive).

Passers are always going to have more turnovers than non-passers.

IMO Calvert and Winder are good at different parts of ball handling.

Winder is very good at protecting the ball in the open court and bring it across half court under pressure. He doesn't have good vision but he uses his speed, strength and keeps the ball low and under control.

Calvert dribbles a little like Carlino with the ball coming up high but his eyes are up looking for driving lanes and passing lanes.

Calvert is probably better as an all-around ball handler.

Calvert has no left. None, whatsoever. He holds his left arm up as if it were in a sling, the left hand barely touching the ball. He's gotten better with his left, but as soon as the pressure comes that arm reverts back to its favorite spot.

If your idea of "handles" is dribbling around looking to make a pass, then Cusick has Calvert beat by a long shot. Calvert will take it to the hole, which is good but his propensity for his right hand shows up big time. He never takes it in the lane dribbling with his left, even if he's on left side. This why the ball gets swatted away or poked away from him so easily when in the lane; he doesn't switch the ball to the undefended side. Think of it as a running back keeping the ball in his right arm as a tackle comes from the right.
