He gives reasons for each school remaining on his list:

Commenters seem to think that he's BYU's to lose.

How does a player call Florida "the best coaching staff" publicly and then choose a different school and face that staff that he just dubbed inferior to Florida?



I guess he could tell Rose he just made that up and said that so Florida coaches would not feel bad when he blew them off.

I would guess - NO. I would guess that Mountain View is the name of his high school.

This eerily reminds me of when I took a little time off work in the 1990s and drove over to nearby Woodbridge High School gymnasium. That event started late as they stalled for more media to arrice. More media never arrived. The gym was packed - high school students and many BYU fans like me. As I have noted before, I saw it coming as the jewelry laden mom worked the stands stalling for more TV cameras to arrive.



Chris Burgess picked Duke. Stunned silence by BYU fans. Nobody was there from Duke. Nobody. Soon Roger Reid was fired. Ruined my day.

No one had a worse day that day than Chris Burgess... it would just take him half a decade to realize what an awful decision he had made.

Seems like if he was going to go to BYU he would just announce it without all the fanfare. Makes me think he's going to go elsewhere. Hope I'm wrong.

Agree with all these posts. His penchant for vanity and playing games with social media teases, doesn't bode well for BYU. maybe I'm wrong. But PD does sound like another CB.

I wonder if one of these teams gave him a deadline causing him to move the date up? I hope, slim hope of hopes, that he has decided he wants to be a cougar and cannot wait to tell the entire world right on the day before our regular season starts.

This is how it seems to me - except when 3 announce at once at Iggy's.



But yeah - when it is made into a big deal - at the high school gym - outside of the state of Utah - Duke wows more of your classmates than BYU. Ditto UVA. Maybe Florida. There are a lot of LDS in Arizona. Maybe this is different outcome this time, but Woodbridge High was packed with BYU fans when CB picked Duke.



With the kids, it is more about impressing classmates than outsiders that drive over for the show.



But then you have Hans Olsen. He chose BYU over Nebraska - then never quite played up to the hype.







Anyone remember how any other high school gym pressers turned out.

I'm so turned off by the whole announcement production that I honestly won't be disappointed if he goes somewhere else. If he chooses the Y, I'll be cautiously optimistic. Mika didn't do this and neither did Haws/Emery right? That's the way I'd prefer it, BYU just isn't that kind of school.
