ByUte1315Cougs_rule do you read what I write? I go after Utah fans hard when they disparage my religion I just do so from a different angle. I don't go after them with scripture but with logic and reasoning. I ask them questions that eventually pin them on their own words. At that point they generally realize that they've been jerkbags and usually apologize.
I recall during my undergrad a few years ago when someone started to mock the LDS faith. I asked them if they knew that Mormons started this school, that a Mormon heads the football team, that a converted Mormon was one of the best football players to play at Utah (Weddle), we were also on generally good terms and I then asked him if he knew that I was an active member of the LDS faith. He then promptly apologized and said that he didn't realize any of those things, though I made it apparent I was LDS from the beginning by saying I never drank, smoke, chugged coffee, etc. Most fans and students I know are like this. If you approach them kindly and acknowledge your own faults and the faults of others nominally like you (read other Mormons) they generally silence their rhetoric and you end up on friendlier terms.
It's a matter of approach. I approach BYU fans with religion and logic because that is what they respond to. I approach U fans with logic and much broader moral reasoning because that is what they respond to.
Also, I apologize for not responding to you at your convenience. I have other constraints on my time that preclude me from following this board day and night.
