If last night is any indication, Mika will have some competition with rebounding. KC has a double double (darn near triple double if you count turnovers and bad shots)

It's comments like this that make me question whether or not I want to be associated with some "fans." I understand that you think Collingsworth is overrated. However, he had 2 turnovers the entire game and clearly outplayed Haws who missed twice as many shots as he took, had 5 assists and looked good for a player just off his mission. He was 1 miss off 50% shooting for the night and you think it's funny to fire a shot. Pathetic.

Fight, fight, fight! I wish I could've seen more of the game. KC brings a lot to the table so I don't mind his shooting % issues all that much. He is a physical and quick presence that we almost never have at BYU. We're lucky to have him back.

Craig is a big KC fan...

Jury is still out for me. He's a great rebounder.

I can't believe you would say that about our All-American candidate. You are so critical. I just can't associate with you anymore. ;)

I'm a huge KC defender... I dont' think KC is overrated at all (go read the old KC posts). I think he made a lot of bad decisions in the game and got lost sometimes after he took a dribble and he did take some bad shots... (I don't care as much if you miss them, I care that they're high percentage shots that you should be taking... KC has no business taking 3 pt shots right now. He'll get better, but your post is way off base. Couldn't be further from reality.)

I spent 3 years recruiting for a D 1 program, I can see a lot of potential in KC but he had a bad game and looked out of place, particularly in the 1st half. But I also see a very aggressive and solid defender that has a lot of Danny Ainge in him; he just has some flaws that hopefully get worked out, whether he's great or not will come down to if he can improve on those flaws. We've had good players never improve (Trent Plaisted, even my good friend Charles Abouo) and then we've had players that improved every year they were in the program (Jimmer, Noah Hartsock).... I hope KC ends up in the improve every year group.. because he has the tools to be a stud. But he was a mess during the exhibition and if you've coached or been around coaches, you'll realize they do not like empty possessions. KC provided too many empty possessions in the exhibition... even Dave Rose made it be known after the game that KC struggled and that he believe that he'll improve. You can't watch that game with a coaches eye and think that KC had a good game...

Oh and of course I did note that KC had a double double ... the rest was for the entertainment of the more easily amused and probably for those that know my tendancies in this hoops forum. I'm a KC fan... ask any regular here.

hey CraigO, don't we have an open scholarship? Can't you find someone to fill it for us? Even now that the season is starting.

One thing that is really going to hinder Mika is foul trouble. Davies never got the benefit of the doubt and was routinely in foul trouble. Mika is going to foul out of multiple games this year.

Prediction: Mika fouls out of one of the Gonzaga games in less than 18 minutes of game time

My son is being born tomorrow... I'll let you know how tall he is.

Seriously, I have a son being born tomorrow, give him 18 years.

I'm not sure what the deal was with Harward or Ambrosino, but I would like to have one more big on scholarship even if they average a point a game. If you remember James Anderson, he was a bit of a mess, but he delivered in a couple games where we really needed someone as a result of injury and foul trouble... Anderson averaged 1 point a game his junior year, yet I think he was worthy of his scholarship. I don't see how Harward or Ambrosino can't do that. I can imagine a game this year where foul trouble puts us in a serious bind. Having Ambrosino or Harward would give us a warm body to protect our guys, etc. I think the plan was for that last guy to be Jabari Parker (long shot) or Jamal Aytes (more than just a warm body, a Jordan Loveridge type guy that landed at UNLV). Don't know if Bronco would allow it, but we could use Bronson as insurance this year (though I prefer not as a centerpiece like a couple games last year).

Anderson did some nice things against Arizona in one of our bigger wins.

Thanks, hope all goes well. Healthy is all I want tomorrow. The next day we'll decide if he's a BYU football or hoops player. (His mom is 5'9" , maybe there's a chance... I'm only 6'0")

We had an OB professor tell us that they use these terms in the birthing rooms when it appears that there's nothing wrong with the baby but that it just looks funny...

FLK = funny looking kid

FLP = funny looking parents

Guess that term gets chucked around a lot in Salt Lake up at the U

I loved Anderson because it was almost a race to see how many fouls he could get in however many minutes he was playing.

He fouled hard, too. There were a couple plays a remember that someone from SDSU and UNM went to the rack and he made them earn those points on the stripes, normally while seeing two hoops.

I've used the FLK term many times, but never heard FLP.

Funny story: during residency I had just finished delivering a baby and our attending physician comes flying in late and unfamiliar with the family. He congratulates the mom on the new baby, then turns to the new grandma (who looks a lot like a :utard: coed) and says, "You must be the proud father?" We didn't let him live that one down for years. :lol:

Sorry, I'm just tired of those that see it as their responsibility to point out their version of each player's deficiencies. It has been rampant the last few years, especially in football. Congrats on the son.
