Based upon his communications skills, I'm worried this guy might be having a stroke.http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/aphasia/DS00685/DSECTION=symptoms " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hoyberg just lives with it, justifying, albeit quietly, either by total denial or that he is saving these kids from their abject circumstances and "developing their character." Yeah, sort of like that time in 1999 when that representative from BYU,albeit a fan, was forced/coached to attack a ute cheerleader....what a classless fan base, what a bunch of thugs....they should be banned from all sports

i don't really care about the bird. It's classless and would get a suspension from the "holier than thou" school known as BYU if it was a BYU player doing it in an opponents gym.
Which is part of the reason I cheer for BYU, they hold their players to a different standard. Which I suppose makes me "holier than thou" in the eyes of many. But I don't give a darn. And props to the player for actually apologizing. I'll accept that at face value.
Being willing to potentially blind someone for 2 points is a whole different level though.
"Willing" interesting word choice...please elaborate, because unless you know this individual's intent on the play, you don't have much of point because one could argue that all student and professional athletes sacrifice their bodies in a multitude of ways for the benefit of the team. Maybe mika just was too embarrassed to shoot another airball?? It's as plausible as vehemently claiming this was a purposeful malicious act, which many would read "willing" to mean

Yes, YOU, you the collective, gas, pumping, trolling, IQ challenged you, who either weren't smart enough to get into the collective YOUT university or cheer for the YOU bc YOU enjoy cheering agin (spelled on behalf of your ignorant collective self) BYU vs cheering for YOUr own team--as manifested by your spending time on a Cougar site.
But what can we expect for a similar group of thugs who won't discipline their own DUI players and normalize that behavior because it is the lawbreaking norm at the YOU.

Serious, why is it like this at most BYU fan boards? Name calling. Everyone is a thug or classless, or a gas pumping loser. You guys know BYU has kids that do stupid things too right. I mean it's not like every athlete at BYU never made any mistakes, ever. I just don't know why you go on and on about other schools kids problems, and then chooses to not address your own. BYU had that kid who flipped off the whole section in the end zone of the Hawaii game @ Hawaii years back. Mika dropped an F bomb DURING the game against Iowa State. Kaufusi came in last year specifically to hard foul people, that was his ONLY role, but somehow if another team does that, he's a thug. I won't even mention Davies cause that kid has some serious issues that have been totally ignored by the school and fan base. I could go on and on but does it really matter?
I'm not trying to say this to do anything other than point out to people to just stop. Stop with all the you are a bad person cause you did something against "us". I swear I can go to other teams sports forums and it isn't nearly this bad. They actually talk about the sport and not just how someone is inherently a bad person and therefore a thug who has no basis for existence and the whole school is full of losers.
Like I said before the flip off was absolutely nothing to get riled up about. The student body was tying to get into his head, and they did. Mission accomplished. Yes he should be reprimanded by his coach because that's how it goes. The crowd can say anything to a player about anything, and you as a player have to keep your cool. The eye thing I watched and re-watched and I never thought he did it on purpose. It didn't look good, and the still pictures look awful, but in the flow of the game it did not look like he did it to hurt Mika. But I also don't have a huge persecution complex.

I also believe the was cited for trespassing and banned from then-Cougar Stadium.
The point is don't be so quick to pass judgement...it's a couple kids playing basketball. Byu fans/players aren't angels...don't to pretend it to be true.
