BYU vs UT game thread

I'm going to claim credit for this win.



At halftime I texted my dad that Haws needed to remember how to shoot the ball or BYU was going to lose.



Although I will apologize for not sending that text in the first half.

This is what happens when at least one member of the team can hit a consistent number of free throws. Now if the rest of the team would catch up with Haws our narrow victories would be comfortable wins.

This is the first game I've missed this season and I'm way bummed! Sounded like an exciting game. Great win for the cougs!



One point of concern I have just looking at the box score is that we shot 83.3% from 3. Of course, that in and of itself is pretty awesome, but we definitely can't expect to see numbers like that often.



For those who saw the game, did we win because of a fluke 3pt shooting night?

They were good open 3s in rhythm of the offense.

We won by taking what was given, not quitting, overcoming adversity, and having enough weapons to have the good outweigh the bad. We will not often shoot 3s like that, but we will often shoot 2s better and rebound better and get fewer of our shots blocked, and make fewer turnovers.

What a fun game. That was entertaining, and I would have enjoyed either way. I am super stoked that they won it though!



Good for the guys, and that was an excellent juggling of personnel with the foul trouble. KColl needs to be better with the ball. He had a few key turnovers, but I am sure that he will learn from them.

10-12 is always a fluke... that's how Cinderella is made in March. We dodged a bullet last night and need to play a lot cleaner and a lot tougher going forward.

In fact we're playing Cinderella tonight... but this isn't her 1st dance now.
