BYU vs. #12 Wichita State game thread

Rose says 7 assists, 13 turnovers under WSU pressure defense interrupted the O flow and contested everything BYU did. The flat spot in the 2nd half at 4 minute mark of not shooting well hurt momentum. He did like their fight despite shots not falling. The fouls called by refs really frustrated Mika and carried over to where he also didn't get calls on defense or offense. He only played 25 minutes. Bad omen was that they couldn't stretch 13 point lead - killer instinct. Crowd silenced by BYU start and lead at half-time. They couldn't duplicate the 1st half and only hit 6 FG in 2nd half.



Next challenge is USU which is undefeated and is a senior laden team with good experience. Learn from loss and move on.

BYU: 40% FG in 1st half, 23% in 2nd half - 33% for the game. Tough defense made the difference.

Sure it's possible...ill take a much better battle tested BYU over usu..

Certainly i think BYU will be favored, and I EXPECT BYU to shake this defensive slump and beat the ags, but BYU has also played 3 tough games and I wonder how fresh they are going to look on Saturday. I hope they are in better shape than me.

AND a few missed layups/3s/jumpers that usually go down for BYU.

Wow, that's worse than I though. I bet most of them came in the first 5 minutes of the second half as well.



The fact that WSU was only 34% from the field and BYU couldn't beat them is discouraging.

Man defense is the key. When Haws is in maybe go zone, but when Winder, Halford, Bartley, or my sister get in the game it has got to be man to man.

With that bunch no reason we couldn't play man.



Haws on defense is a huge liability. If he's scoring, then we can live with the liability. If he isn't, then bench him and go man.
