Right now we are barely in. If they were doing their selections, some tourny upsets could knock us out. We need to beat GU at home and SF on Saturday.

Except, BYU is NOT in... yet. I'll keep the fingers crossed though.

Texas smoked Kansas this week by double digits. Kansas was #1 in the RPI, and of course BYU beat Texas. Stanford is doing well too. BYU has some wiggle room. Just not much.

Summary of BYU basketball to this point
Record 16-9
RPI 45 (fairly mediocre)
Rank 49 (according to ESPN)
remaining schedule:
SF
@PAC
@SMC
GONZ
Port
@SD
To make the tournament I think BYU is going to have to win all remaining games except the Gonzaga game. If BYU goes into selection sunday tied up with SMC for 2nd place it will really hurt their chances. Beating the zags at home would be nice, but a win at SMC is huge. As is today's game with SF @provo.
In summary if BYU goes 5-1 in the remaining 6 games and that loss is to the zags, I think they've done just enough to maybe make the field of 68.

Currentlyin the Lunardi has BYU OUT, if they lose to USF. I'd imagine they will be on that bubble the rest of the season.
He also has them ranked #47.
