FT's and rebounding

We seem to have more two bit guys have all career nights against us than elsewhere....

Rose was not smart. He should have gone to rim in the 3ot instead of jacking up 3s. Stupid ball. KC takes to the rim and gets fouled. They have a bunch of guys with four fouls.

And the refs have favored the pilots. Even the announcers have said as much. So so many over the backs.

But Rose has to get his guys to the rim!!!

Ad the Carlino jack show show continues. Stupid! legs are fried don't jack threes. GO TO THE RACK!!!

You still clapping and getting cocky now MC? You thought the game was over up 6 in the 2nd OT and you failed to lead your team to victory and then you chuck that horrible 3 late. Close out the game and then celebrate! Embarrassing loss for the program.

We lost this game with a horrible down court drive by KC, crappy game management in the 2nd over time, horrible free throw shooting, and a complete lack of boxing out.

He did what we wanted him to do all season, dribble out the shot clock when up. Should have been looking to extend the lead.

Haws and MC were the only two putting points up. Want to call a player stupid, call KC stupid for missing free throws and inability to drive the lane in the closing seconds. KC choked the entire game.

Haven't read the thread but the title simply says it all. How many games has BYU lost this season because of these 2 reasons? Free throw shooting being the biggie. Kyle Collinsworth, as good as he is, needs to start hitting 2 free throws when he goes to the line, his misses are killers. He has cost us at least 2 games off the top of my head with his misses.

Home cooking refs.



But credit our kids. They fought extremely hard. Have to hit free throws and have to keep draining to the hole late. It's the only thing that works.

Not a single F-ing player on this team can hit 2 for 2 FT's except for Haws. Blow this program up it doesn't belong on a basketball court. There is absolutely no coaching going on with this team. Mika is worse at everything than he was at the beginning of the year. KC shoots like a girl with no arms. Austin can't do anything. And nobody else does anything but put their head down and go to the rim as hard and as fast as they can.



We are a mid-level WCC team now. Blow up the program.

I don't understand how van der mears whatever his name is was allowed to climb the backs of our guys all night...frustrating no wonder Mika was throwing him down...

There's only 2 ways the Gonzaga game ends because we've seen this movie vs good teams already this year. We either lose by a few late due to horrible FT shooting--most likely by Mika or KC. Or we get wiped by 20.

Amen Gunk. You guys are off your rockers to even suggest in the slightest way that this is on Carlino. Impossible to win games with absolutely no post presence whatsoever. The only semi-legit post player spent over half the game watching. What is embarrassing is watching Sharp get pushed so far underneath on every free throw miss. KC didn't play well tonight. A Sophomore is going to be like that. Ft's suck. No surprise there. Tough loss. Buck up and move on. Go Cougars!

Only guys that showed up to play were Haws (48 points, 3 rebounds - Haws is a horrible rebounder) and Carlino (25 pts, 9 assists). Halford, 5 pts going into overtime. Mika, 4 points and 4 boards for the whole game. Austin, 7 points 15 boards (not a bad game for him). KC, 12 points but heading into overtime he had 6.



The only starter to be in double figures going into overtime: Haws. Everyone else laid an egg. I am sorry, you can't expect to win games on the road with only one starter in double digits.



KC, 6/12 from the free throw line. Had he made one more free throw in regulation we would have won.

He also went 1/2 in the second over time that would have also won the game for BYU. KC has lost us at least 2 games this year with his free throwing and maybe 3 if I remember right. I love the kid, he has so much talent and potential but he needs to develop a free throw and an outside shot. I see the game being pissed away at the free throw line when I see Haws pass the ball away when BYU is holding a lead and the ball because he is the only one who can hit 2 free throws in a row.

Ironically, Portland shot free throws worse than BYU did even after starting red hot.



BYU lost this game on the boards. You cannot give 2nd chances time after time after time and win.



Frankly, I will need to look at stats to figure out how we kept it so close with Portland dominating the boards and raining down 3s.



Mr. Consistency was inconsistent from the opening tip -off.



Rose should have put in some fresh legs late in 2nd OT and played aggressive defense.

Further irony. KC always shoots FT poorly. Tonight, TH started out cold from the FT line. One more FT from Haws would have won it - or Carlino - or Halford - or Mika - or KC.
