56-44%. We need to bury them now and make them give up. Otherwise we could be vulnerable when we are at church tomorrow.

I guess I'll stay home

No go to church. Do a tweet in the morning, check the score. All will be well.

Now 62-38%. the push tonight has put them out. What a battle. Last night I thought we had lost. Congrats to everyone.

Tomorrow night we start against UCF. They had an easy round this time. Wait I just checked it. They had 72% but now they have only 34%. It looks like Tex Pan suckered them by not voting until the end and then buried them. WOW.

DOH!!!! That makes sense. I'm started learning css, javaview, and jquery at work a couple of weeks ago.

Wow, wow wow!

To wake up this morning and see us at 78% is fantastic. What blows me away is how the other three contests are standing. It looks as some lulled their opponent into complacency, and then lowered the boom. UCF has been leading their opponent most of the week 3:1 and now they are down to 32%. The other two contests, not as drastic, but huge changes from yesterday.

UCF is starting a comeback. We want them to lose. We get the winner next. We won't get caught sleeping.

It appears that some of the schools might have been using bots and the NCAA site decided to remove those votes. BYU got there legitimately and the others didn't so you can see why there's such a difference after those votes were removed.

Btw UCF is a big school, but they're a commuter campus (a glorified community college if you will) and they don't do such a great job supporting their athletics. It appears they will lose handily today because they were also running bots.

Here's how the bot thing helps us the most. The schools using the bots cheated to get to the final 8 and the seeding was based on votes with bots. BYU did it fairly cleanly and now the schools using the bots have been exposed and those votes removed... leaving nothing in the way of us winning fairly.

had those bots been caught in previous rounds, we might be going up against a school with a legit fan base, but they were all out prior to the site differentiating what was cheating and what was legit... it's ours to take now.

Back in '79, I got a chance to work for NASA, but that required me moving to Florida and leaving BYU. I didn't even give it a second thought. I threw my 5 month pregnant wife in the Chevy LUV pickup and everything we owned in the back and moved.

I started going to UCF. UCF didn't have a football team at the time and a basketball team which had only be going for a couple of years. One of the best b-ball players they had at the time was an on-campus recruit. He was a tall black boy who looked athletic. He was standing in line to register for classes and the coach saw him and asked him if he wanted to play. They were frantic for players. He said sure and he got moved to the front of the line and registered really quick. He turned out to be a decent player.

As far as the school today and being behind athletics, the school used to be called "FTU," Florida Technology University, until right before I got there and then the name was changed to University of Central Florida.

It still pretty much a technical university and so most of the students there are geeks and don't care that much for sports. It also takes time to build up a solid support group for sports, but with the recent success of its football team, that foundation is slowly getting built, but I'll probably never be a part of it. Yes, I graduated from UCF and I got a great education there, I'm a BYU Blue Goggled Homer through and through.

Several of the people I work with at the Space Center are UCF Golden Goggled Geek Homers and we're all going to the upcoming football game together. The last time BYU played in the stadium, they lost and my heart broke. !985 BYU 7, Ohio State 10.

I was surrounded by fans from Ohio and they were most gracious in our lose. It was a fun game, except for the score.

Official Statement:

External, automated scripts used to create fake email accounts in order to manipulate voting totals were used to vote in the 6th Fan contest dating back to February 24. As a result, all votes cast since that date through email registration have been removed for all schools remaining in the contest. All non-email registration votes (through Twitter, Facebook, and on NCAA.com/6thfan) since February 24 will count towards the contest. Additionally, since this issue did not arise prior to the Elite 8 round, the previous rounds’ voting totals are authentic and remain unchanged. All votes cast prior to February 24 through email registration will be included in the final tallies. Fans can continue to support their schools through the options currently available on NCAA.com/6thfan.

This statement is being shared with marketing department contacts at all of the 8 schools remaining in the contest.

Texas Pam Am huge lead has been reduced to 2 points with 3 hours left. Will they hold on?
S
scott715
Just checked UCF's board, they have copied the scripts from CB. They have a Facebook page where they have been putting the script. They will be a tough out next week if they win.

UCF just past them.
