The scripts still work. At least once per day, as long as you enter the CAPTCHA.

The automatic email bots got every email vote tossed.

The script works, if at all, only for one vote per day. To those using the script, it gives the same appearance as if it is working, but on the other side those running the 6th fan are going through and deleting or omitting the script votes.

Cougarboard is promoting (and I have been repeatedly emailed and Pm'd) the same script as NDSU and UCF were using and which got ignored/rejected in the final tally. If the 6thfan folks already dumped those votes the last round, what sane person expects that they'll for some reason keep them this round?

The ROC asked the website if the script votes work and they were told that they do. My understanding is the bot created fake email addresses and did not put in the captcha. Those were tossed.

Let me dumb this down a bit:

6thfan only counts twitter, facebook and 6thfan.com entries.

The script alleges to enter through 6thfan.com

To enter through 6thfan.com, you must enter both a CAPTCHA, and a valid email address.

You are only allowed one entry per day per email address.

The site does not rebuff you for entering more than once per day with the same email address, but they kick out multiple entries on the back end after the fact, so it appears that the site is accepting the votes, and the scripts report success because there is not up front denial, but they are subtracted on the back end. So once the votes are kicked out, you'll see an adjustment like after the NDSU voting:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bhs2ZduCUAEfGRs.jpg:large" alt="" loading="lazy" style="max-width:100%">

Facially the script continues to give the appearance of working, but in the end those votes will just be cast aside, again.

Again, this is the same script NDSU and UCF were using, and all of their duplicate votes were eliminated. The same will happen with anyone else who continues to use the script promoted on Cougarboard.

Sorry, Sno, could you repeat the middle part?

"You can vote as many times as you can solve the captcha. These scripts will help you load the captcha quicker. However, NONE of them will enter a vote without the captcha being solved. The email is never required, all you need is the captcha. Enter the captcha, over and over again. Don't worry about any of the other fields."

I'm pretty burned out on the whole voting thing. I think they should allow one vote per IP per day, as well as one twitter and one facebook vote. Anything more is overkill.

Congratulations on quoting Cougarboard as an authority.

My authority: past events (where the votes got yanked before in earlier rounds), and this site:

http://6thfan.ncaa.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Click on "see prizes and rules" and in the bubble/circle showing the rules for school prizes, you will notice at the bottom that "users can vote once per method per day."

Forgive me, but I'll take the official rules and history over what CB is claiming.

There are two things going on, the scholarship for the school and prizes for the voters. Voters get one per day. The scholarship is on total votes. It is really confusing.

More importantly our lead is slipping. Now at 64%. I am not comfortable at this level. The last day could see a big push like they did to UCF.

The one vote per user per method per day rule is under the school prizes (i.e. scholarship) rules. It explicity says under "School Prizes" that "Users can vote once per method, per day."

For the individual prizes it states "Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means will be void.... Limit one (1) entry per person, e-mail address or household per calendar day." Again, one entry per day, but only one method is accepted.

Past events support what I've been reporting. Automatic email bot votes were thrown out, while human script votes using captcha were not.

Only one vote per method per day will be counted towards winning prizes, like iPads.

And the surge that beat UCF was mostly BYU fans voting against the tougher competition.

So on CougarBoard they are giving high fives to many who participated in a massive voting last night. Yet this morning I only see us at 67%. I did 100 or so last evening and honestly our number slipped a few percentage points from where it was when I started. Something doesn't make sense, but I can't imagine, fan-for-fan, if the site wasn't allowing these scripts that Tex-Pan American would be having more fans vote than BYU fans. My aunt graduated with a masters from UTPA because she was living in McAllen, TX at the time. So I've been on campus. They are one of those regional universities like UVU, U of Akron--schools I'm familiar with. I don't know what's going on.

One other thing is I clicked on the "Vote" button for UTPA and it's interesting (I didn't hit the final vote and solve the captcha so I'm not a Puke-coat). It shows:

Current Match UP

33% UTPA vs. 67% BYU

Directly below that pic they have "Next Round Projection"

74% UTPA vs 26% Western Illinois

What's that all about? How would they project UTPA to the next round and victorius with 74%? Strange metrics.

Doing the same with BYU they have BYU projected at a 85% to 15% winner over W. Illinois. It has to be based on the amount of votes that each school has churned out, but I'm not seeing how they get UTPA to 74% and BYU only to 85% based on current voting where BYU holds a 34 point lead over UTPA.

Maybe they were just showing the projection of your team (since you clicked on their vote button). What it means is that our battle is getting alot more votes that the other matchup.

UTAP has been trying to get others to vote for them including Texas.

NDSU fan site are also pushing visitors to vote for UTAP and oust BYU.

No, read my earlier post. One vote per day per method applies to both the individual/voter prizes and the school prizes.

Here are the rules for the school prizes, or the $100,000--Notice under school prizes "Users can vote once per method, per day". Under individual prizes (e.g. the iPads) it says "be sure to agree to the terms and conditions"

The terms and conditions for the iPads etc, the end of #2 tells you "Limit one (1) entry per person, e-mail address or household per calendar day."

Now they are on tv trying to get votes.

I love this amateur-hour production with the eager young anchor who knows nothing about sports. Start watching at the 1:00 mark and listen to him say, "NCAA is a huge thing." Yes my friend, NCAA is a huge thing. It truly, truly is.

On this site, http://6thcougar.dyndns.org/ , I noticed that for one hour at night, there is a huge jump for BYU. Where is all that voting happening? For example, last night, between 9 and 10, BYU received over 100,000 votes. That's more than 10% of their current votes since the start of this round.

BTW, my supervisor is a UCF grad, I am too, and in a staff meeting today, he was pissing and moaning about how much he hates BYU.

The students are doing a blitz at 10pm each night. They had 140,000 votes on CB alone. Join them tonight. I have a church meeting but I just did 400.

Hmmmm, church meeting or voting for BYU.

Hmmmm, voting for BYU during the church meeting.

Hmmmm, a church meeting for voting for BYU. I like this one the best.
