Unfortunately, Oregon responded to the wake-up call.

BYU has had too many games this year with a stretch of 4+minutes when no one was hitting FGs and opponent hitting about everything.

Key word being "looking."

:D

Well played.

At least Mika is working it inside. He has fight in his belly.

BYU, put in the bench, let them have some minutes for sitting there all year.

Well... it was an entertaining year.

Maybe BYU will surprise us in the tournament someday, but not this day (or any other day in the 2000s so far).

Fun year, BYU just didn't have the athletes to compete with the upper 1/3rd of college basketball.

Well said Jackson Emery.

Oregon is shooting 68% in the second half. That's hard to do in shootaround when you have NO defense on the floor.

How many times has BYU won a game this year with good defense? Answer: 0.

After this game I don't see how it can be argued that Sharp and Halford shouldn't be shown the door. Rumors of a Utah State transfer (possibly PF Kyle Davis) as well as Aytes coming in as well as a possible offer out there to Musoku and there is no more room.

There have also been some rumors that Matt Carlino is unhappy and will transfer. Of course, the same rumors swirled around Carlino last year too.

HIs play the last two games makes me unhappy. You got to hit more shots than he hit....

All I have are highlights to go from, but I agree about the new guys. Aytes alone changes the entire team because he's a 4 who can shoot and score down low.

I don't believe in Neilson's game translating, but if he has a jumper I don't know about then he's an upgrade over Austin.

Fischer will just be another white guy who can't play D or get to the hole.

Chatman is quicker than our guards so he'll play a lot.

I have no idea about the Davis kid, but every team we played this year seemed to have a better 4 and 5 than us so why not?

That's hilarious. He's a prototypical bipolar athlete. He thinks he's better than he is. You can tell by how fired up he got the 3 or 4 times all year when he got hot and thought he was the man. He'd be crazy to leave with only 1 year left.

The rumors are unfounded and more than likely originating from disgruntled fans.

MC really wasn't the problem in today's game. We basically played 3 on 5 tonight. No 4 and no 2 to work off of really hurts us.

I don't put this loss on Carlino at all. "Bad Carlino" didn't show up tonight (though he got close). The problem is that neither did "Hawesome" (who was good, but sub-par based on what we have come to expect) or Halford (zero points on 0-4 shooting in 10 mins... kudos to Rose for recognizing that Halford wasn't going to get into rhythm and giving the minutes to Bartley).

The team missed too many layups. Credit Oregon's length, but there were too many good looks that BYU couldn't get to go down inside the paint.

It's been a year of ups and downs. I hope the team has shown some growth. I look forward to next year. The off seasons possibilities for transfers (and the schollie question regardless) will keep things interesting while we wait for football to start!

They competed quite well with the upper 1/3. There are 351 teams. The top 15 % are tough for BYU to consistently match up with.

I haven't heard anything about MC wanting out this year. From everything I've heard coming from within the team, MC is a pretty well-liked guy by the other players and coaches and has really embraced his new role as the "6th man with starter's minutes" the second half of this season.

The rumors that I saw came from @PostJimmer (Steve Pierce), who if you are active on twitter at all, know he is Carlino's biggest, most extreme fan. Who said it was a possibility. More than anything, I think he is just frustrated that other fans don't think that Carlino is the most amazing player to ever play the game.
