It seems EXCEPTIONALLY stupid to me to complain about a road win against a very good team halfway through the game. This is not fandom, this is paranoid insanity.

Solid win against a solid team on the road while getting homered and scoring over 100? I'll take it.

Just because your're paranoid doesn't mean that they're not out to get ya...

Like hating Austin Collie for leaving for the NFL draft? A "stupid and selfish" mistake that landed him a starting position with the Colts?

But saying that 9 turnovers in one half isn't going to win a tournament... now THAT'S insanity.

C'mon, listen to yourself.

Yeah, I'm sure it's NEVER happened. ;) We beat Nevada didn't we, fiancee-puncher?

Florida isn't going to win a tourney game either. They played a sloppy first half tonight, and besides, how many tournament teams would lose to Southern Alabama at home. Florida blows. They need to shoot fewer threes.

I've got to say that I feel like I do every year at this point in the season...we're winning every game and playing very well, which usually gets my hopes up for a tourney win. But I've learned my lesson. However, I really like what I see from the bigs this year (and for once I think their play backs up my vote of confidence.) Davies is confident and has moves. Miles' touch around the basket has improved. Hartsock is playing very well, which is why he is getting starts.

I think the only indicator of post-season success that remains is our play on the road against good teams. I know that's an obvious point, but BYU has been losing them every year for as long as I can remember. AZ is not that good this year, but it'd be a good win. Then we get to see what we're made of when we visit the big boys of the conference. I think if we can steal one of the games @ UNM or UNLV (especially) I'll have a little more hope for the tourney.

The last week gives me faith that we are a tournament team and Dave Rose has always fared well during the conference season our RPI had improved some, though I don't expect Nebraska to fare well in the Big 12. Nevada could run the table in the WAC.

(post season wins? not sure we've shown anything yet)

I'm glad SOMEONE knew that that post wasn't serious!

We HAVE looked very impressive in the last three games... especially Nebraska (wow).

Hopefully we keep this level of play up... I remember last year when it seemed like our team actually got WORSE as the season progressed. Hopefully we actually improve.

While your thread is intended to mock me, the irony is that everything you said is correct.

If you saw the gutsy, passionate performance tonight vs AZ, then you know why we will win a tourney game this year.

I saw it and as much as I want to get overly excited about the W (a win I don't think we get in the last 10 years), we still need to see more. Plus, the season isn't half over, who knows what can happen here on out. However, I do believe that we are playing like a top 15 team and will be so ranked at the end of January.

2 differences that seem to be clear now about this year's team:

1. Throttle. I don't remember us destroying teams before. I recalling playing down to teams almost every week, but I don't remember going up 30 on a regular basis and keeping the foot on the pedal.

2. Stability. This team doesn't seem to get rattled by swings of momentum. When we need a play or stop, we do it. Momentum comes back our way again.

3. Defense. This team plays it... and Jackson Emery plays it the best.

I see different players but the same style of live and die by the 3 ball while poorly defending it. I'd like to know what others think is different about this group that will get us a W in the tourney. So far I'm not seeing it even though I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible.

I don't think that we were that sloppy. Nevada was very quick and active, often disrupting where no previous team had been able to, and we didn't get rattled and fall apart. I think this team has the toughness that some of the recent teams have lacked.

I maintain my skepticism, but it's nice to know that for a team full of white boys we finally don't have to worry so much about clutch free throw shooting. This has already won us a few games that I think we would've lost last year. Very good win and excellent experience for everyone especially Lloyd and Davies.

if there's any difference I see in this year's team from last year's, it's that we have a TON of more depth. I don't know where it all came from... I guess Haws and Davies have really helped, along with the fact that Lloyd really knows how to step it up. Last year we had zero depth, this year we all of a sudden have tons of it, which is key considering the fact that usually at least one or two of our "big time" guys (Fredette, Emery, JT, Haws) has a crappy game.

And thank goodness JT is finally looking half decent again. He'll have to keep it up for awhile, though, to have me convinced that this isn't his typical 10 minutes of fame...

that win was huge i think for so many reasons, one of which is that we beat a very "long and athletic" bunch on their floor, obviously without 32,which was trying to take it inside to their 2 skilled post players. although we used up a lot of fouls,we had an answer for them, again without really having to rely on just long range bombing. This team is both resilient and versatile, and what can you say about a freshman who can shoot 87% from the free throw line and is an iceman when the game is on the line?you MY daddy!

Seriously- Haws, Davies, and Lloyd- All have stepped up their first year playing more than imagined after none of them played for us last season.
