blue42I realize the larger ramifications of the whole BSA, LDS church thing, but perhaps on a level much lower than Gospel principles I was disappointed when the Church did not cut ties with the BSA because I could only see the possible problems staying with them could create, many has mentioned here already.
Since that time I have had time to think about it a little more and came to the conclusion, if the Church cut ties with the scouts, there would be absolutely no chance in hades that BYU would get a P5 invite. Think about it, most already think we are intolerant, bigoted, bible thumping (or BoM thumping) weirdo's right now, this would have put the nail in the coffin of any chance of a P5 invite.
