How do they give him that much of a cushion on 3rd down?

The biggest surprise to me so far. TCU has 0 sacks.

Well, now we see how great Dalton really is. It would help him a lot of his receivers would stop dropping passes.

MVP of the game, ANDY 3 ints.

What a game! It's a real shame that both of these teams couldn't have played AQ teams.

Both teams had a month to prepare for tonight's game. What did TCU do? read their own press clippings?

Seriously, this is not the same TCU that rolled through the MWC. Nor is this the same BSU that played poorly in several games against WAC opponents.

And dalton loses the game with his third INT.

Pathetic representation by TCU, especially after the other 4 teams did their part in representing the MWC.

and rasta, you jinxed the frogs. ;)

Now to endure the slings and arrows of my coworkers tomorrow.

I think the biggest surprise here is how well the BSU defense did against the high scoring TCU offense. And the double team of Hughes all night worked like a charm. It's really too bad for TCU. I was hoping for a #1 in the AP.

BSU just beat an outstanding TCU team on the backbone of a very good defense. Let's get BSU in the MWC.

Andy is the MVP, he led to over 21 points tonight. (14 for the other team off turnovers )

Back off Dalton. On his first INT, the receiver cut the route short after Dalton released the ball. Receiver's fault. On the last INT, the idiot receiver, knowing he is on an island during the two-minute drill, tips the ball UP---one of the two cardinal sins for a receiver in two-minute drills (the other one is turning in-field after the catch). Receiver's fault.

Dalton's passing was about the only thing that went right for TCU's offense tonight.

Not to mention the myriad drops by his receivers, including one that would have for sure been a touchdown.

I have to disagree, I think Dalton played one of his worst games. He made bad reads on a lot of option runs, he scrambled in the wrong direction many times, and made the wrong throws or at the wrong time. That final INT actually bounced off the guys shoulderpads and was not "tipped" per se. But it was a floater thown almost across his body and mostly off the back foot with no forward momentum. It was a bad throw that was destined to get picked. He had a couple more of those too. I also think he made many of his throws too soon or too late. Hence the many tipped balls. On one of the ones over the middle that was tipped by an LB/S, if he would have waited a fraction of a sec longer and hit the guy in the actual seam instead of as he was about to enter the seam that WR may have taken the ball for a TD. Instead it was tipped and fell to the ground. I have to put this dismal offensive performance on Dalton's shoulders. He made too many wrong decisions that resulted in too many ineffective plays. But overall I pin the loss on TCU coaches. The gameplan they came up with on D and on O just didn't do enough, and I believe really handcuffed such an aggreassive and strong defense. And not being ready for the fake punt was absolutely inexcusable. BSU, Hawaii, and Tulsa are teams that will do anything at any time and you have to be prepared. TCU was not and it led to the winning TD. Too bad for this performance because it almost eliminates BYU from a top 10 finish. TCU should finish around 7-9. BYU probably between 12 to 14.

Since when is a ball hitting a receiver in the hands/helmet/shoulder pads ever a bad throw? Are you joking me? You want to blame Dalton for throws that hit receivers in the hands that the receivers don't catch? For balls that hit receivers in the pads or helmet? Seriously? What kind of bizarro world is this? I know the lay fans like to blame the quarterback every time the ball hits the turf, but to blame the quarterback for an interception after the ball hits his receiver in the hands/helmet/shoulder pads is absurd.

Yes, it was "a floater thrown almost across his body and mostly off the back foot with no forward momentum." Dude--the ball hit the receiver and should have been caught or deflected downward by the receiver. I could understand the criticism if it was picked before it got to the receiver, but again--it hit the receiver before BSU touched it. It's the quarterback's job to get the ball to the receiver where he can catch it--who cares whether you throw off your back foot without forward momentum as long as the ball hits the receiver? Once the ball gets to the receiver, it's the receiver's job to bring the ball in (or in the two-minute drill deflect it downward).

I thought that last pass went through the receiver's hands before it hit his shoulder pad. In other words, it should have been caught...
