What has changed against TCU? In 2005 we put up 50. We scored 31 in 2006. The 22 in 2007 wasn't awful, but still decent. But we've only managed 7 each of the last two years. What's different? BYU players? BYU scheme? TCU players? TCU scheme?

Max Hall and probably the play calling by Anae. The 22 in 2007 wasn't that great. TCU wasn't nearly as talented that year.

The TCU defense was pretty solid the last 2 years. Turnovers did not help, either. But mainly, I think they schemed it for Max's tendencies, and took him out of it in those 2 games. They took away Pitta and George and forced to throw to WR's, which he does not do often, other than to Collie in 2008. I think we give them a better game in 2010.

We get better recruits than the Utes annually, and they have been AS or MORE competitive than us yearly. That comes down to coaching.

Or, just a crappy rating system that is giving BYU players more credit, or Utah players less credit than they deserve. I think the coaches at BYU have done a fine job of finding and developing talent. If the rating system really reflected how good a team was, BYU would be ranked in the 40s or 50s for the last couple years.

The argument of the Utes "doing more with less" was a familiar refrain of a certain Bronco hater on another board. I've heard many iterations of it and still don't buy it.

My only criticism of Anae has been his reluctance to go back to Harvey in games where he's dominating like Utah last year and Utah this year, and complete inability to solve TCU; however he has consistently been good and that's something we couldn't say for the Crowton years.

The switch from the field to the booth has been a productive move.

What are you talking about? Anae ran the ball almost exclusively in the 4th quarter of this years Utah game. This just shows how dumb the criticisms of Anae really are. Half the people criticized his play calling this year because he didn't pass enough and half criticize it because he didn't run enough. If you don't even know what happened in the game, how can you claim that you know he called bad plays?

Go back and watch the Utah game, Harvey was not getting the ball.

Formation, formation, formation. Harvey was a beast out of the I, with Tonga lead blocking. We did not run it in the 4th, but ran from the spread, which was less successful. Check the OSU game too. We ran great from the I. With the huge O-line we have, we could be a power football team, possession oriented, if we wanted. In fact, I expect more of it next year, with a young QB in play.

Really? We've had the better record in three of the last four seasons, and beaten them three out of four times since Bronco got rolling.
